Performatives, should just be honest with themselves. Instead they settle for parading themselves as religious because they’re insecure about their own religious beliefs, and need approval from others so that they don’t have to internally confront themselves.

The thing that really annoys me, and this isn’t exclusive to a Christians at all (other members of different religions will say similar things), is when someone says “I don’t hate anyone” or “I have love” because they almost always have some nasty, heartless comments to express

Half the time it just sounds like they want approval that they follow their religion. Imo, as a religious person, it shouldn’t matter how others perceive the way you practice; instead you should only care about how you individually engage with the religion.

but don’t give up on it (assuming you’re surrounded by positive and good people). I’m still in my mid 20s, but my early twenties were definitely a time of confusion and stress with I what wanted to be be like as an individual. It’s totally a normal thing to go through

Take it from me, that stuff is definitely not easy to do and often times I felt like I’d never get anywhere in life. However, I just want to say don’t be deterred and keep using aspects of those improvement videos to guide you. I don’t believe any video will have all the answers
