BRICS was BRIC before South Africa joined. It's convenient to have 'S' as the first letter of your country's name. Nice and easy to add to an acronym. What if it started with like an 'M'?? BRICM??

It's so much easier to play Supervive with new players because everyone is on the same screen at the same time. "Come here, let me show you something," is actually something I can say. Really hard to do that in League when I'm 5 screens away most of the time. Also hard to do in FPS Battle Royales.
