The way that Keres unwinds her story may appear confusing at first, but it's a really impressive way to convey amnesia and the fall out from trauma and illness. It married up well with the grief representation and pure heartbreak of this story. For a short story it packs a massive punch! #booksky

Reading The Rot in Our Ribcages, or any book by Macabre, feels like drinking a decadent glass of wine, sitting upon a throne, styled in jewels and fine silk. Every page turn brought more poetry and finesse. I will never be over how beautiful every element of this book is. It is artwork! #booksky

This book is so enjoyable! It's just the right length to get whisked away into a new world, but without taking on a huge commitment Diodorus was my favourite character; I loved how he entwined spiritual beliefs with sci-fi elements. A superb short story that deserves to be read by all! #booksky
First light by Dan f Bispo. Tropes: low stakes, cozy sci fi, found family, disability rep. Be honest! I've included this to add more emotion to my story. Does it work or sound as bad as my brain is telling me it does #writingcommunity
Growing up, she never had anyone to teach her things like cooking. Everything she now knew was self-taught. Delphine was put up for adoption at a young age; she barely remembered her parents. What she did remember was hours of boredom and silence as she bounced from foster house to foster house. Not having many friends meant she also wasn’t able to share her joy or accomplishments with anyone, either. All she ever wished for was a house full of warmth, love, acceptance, and nurturing. But it never came; instead, her life was quiet and isolated. She didn’t know the feeling of warm embraces or laughing with loved ones until her face and stomach ached. Which is why she opened the B&B, and why she made sure that her door was always open to others. She wanted to be the anchor for other lonely souls, however fleeting their visit. Yet it was never enough, and her heart always ached, desperate for love and a familial bond she’d never known.
