"A question." He shifts, metal crescents gently
against frayed cloth and bone.

a moment's pause, vague rise of skeletal
hinges beneath layers, finding voice
expressed by a whisper.
"..yes, my light?"

No mind to tone, comfortable, and yet.
"Why is it you insist upon these..
ministrations."

$"I have never seen a fracture beyond scrapes. My wounds heal without ever a use for medicine. I learn from your hand, but it's only entertainment." "yet, you.." pause; a stuffy rag wrung with ease. spilling forth wasted blood of an angel. "forgive me, but i notice, still you wince when.. tended to." "..Pain, yes. It is still felt. You have no flesh, yet would feel the burn of a candle if you weren't careful." tentatively, he nods, the visual spurring previous late-hour memories, besides a wooden desk, and enveloping shadows. "is this to say, you.. wish to part..?" "No, no." Palm to marrow, followed by steady strokes. assurance, gifted so freely. "Do not allow the sin of doubt to fester, my friend. I only ask, not to dissuade your kindness, but genuine curiosity. There is no shame in your intent."$

A soft breath, structure lacking
source. Aged, pearlescent fabric, shifted
with weight of thousand unspoken thought.
it would rip threads in twain.

"i have .. been witness to punishment."
silence, stagnant.

apprehension.

"pain beyond your wounds. it caresses your
every.. word." his tone stutters. the other
does not prod. "as.. if tainted."

"do you imply i am less than Just for it?"

"i.. no, never.. i would not." hands lift, thin
gold rattling atop cartilage. "i have seen the..
manner, in which they chain you to.. the
staring. the idolization.. such depravity...
iin. in their gazes, blinded by their fictitious,
lustful image of you."

silence once more, though quiet, it lacks
intrusion.
"the sinful. they lack.. tact."

".."
