last one before i shift focus to other things Supertux for a super mario bros style 2D platformer, and Super Tux Kart for an albeit somewhat janky kart racer with a wide array of mods. everything in it was made with open source software and also features other open source software mascots as racers

I remember this from a funny way of handling a copycat. Red Eclipse, a FPS arena shooter. I remember it because there was a bootleg copycat that was hosted on the original servers that was crypto oriented, so the red eclipse devs put out a patch that detected it and block so people dont get scammed.

oh can't forget about Luanti, formerly known as minetest. It's an open source voxel sandbox with a certain game as inspiration and a very open modding scene. An unmodified version of it usually powers those bootleg mobile games that ape off of minecraft's success.

for FPS fans there's always FreeDoom which is built on the doom engine If you like puzzle games or games that really mess with your head, try HyperRogue. It's available on github for free, or you can buy it on steam if you want. Its a roguelike on hyperbolic space

oh and for rhythm game fans, there's always osu, quaver, itgmania, friday night funkin (open source engine and open to mods even once the full game is out), clone hero and YARG (Yet Another Rhythm Game) if you have an old plastic guitar hanging around (yarg has more songs by default legally)

Ill add one of my own. For all the deckbuilder fans out there, there's always .fourty-five which is a western gun duel deckbuilder using special bullets. It's open source but also has a steam page thats still very much free as in beer

came from a nickname i used in mario party netplay back when I still had a my little pony fanfic reading phase. From an old friends fanfic hell and high water, sunset stanza, a revived sunset shimmer as a siren, people kept calling me stanza, so i just took stanza as my name when i fully came out

it isn't in this case because other countries also have roughly the same amounts when adjusted for USD. It's actually because the yen has such little buying power that nintendo can't greed them and make money. like how the jp locked switch 2 translates to 330 dollars usd but the region free is 450

so i did a bit of research. Switch 2 games in japan are roughly the price games currently are on switch 1, with mario kart world equating to about 70 dollars physical (9980 yen) but 60 digital (8980 yen), and DK Bananza is roughly 55 dollars digital (7980 yen)
