Safe standing has been STH-only since it came in – initially to allow STHs to move in, and then after that window closed as the club monitored its introduction. It’s always been important to allow single ticket sales for any available spaces – and home games after tonight’s game will do this.

Matchday sales now open in the safe standing area for the upcoming game vs Derby for those without a season ticket that have been patiently waiting for a chance to try out the new area #bskyblades tickets.sufc.co.uk/en-GB/events...

The new Safe Standing area opens today at last, over 34 years since the last standing tickets on the Kop were sold. The area gives fans a choice to stand at games with the club’s blessing, and the hope is that this will also add to the atmosphere for the benefit of all at the ground #bskyblades

The new Safe Standing section will give fans the opportunity to stand for the full game while watching United for the first time since the Kop was redeveloped. It also doubles up as a clothes rail. #bskyblades

This image, snapped from a video posted by SUFC Fan Services in the other place, shows the long sleeved versions of the lovely new kits on hangers attached to the lovely new rails – potentially due to lack of hanger space in the club shop. Fans are advised not to bring coat hangers into the new safe standing section.
