If I say, "No, honey, don't let me have it, we do not need to buy every shiny thing I see, I'm a fucking magpie." Too late. I loved it, so he loves it for me. ... It IS really pretty, though ...
Screenshot of a retail listing for "Home Accents Holiday 5ft 160 Lumen LED Iridescent Twinkling Deer". I have seen it in-store, not just online. It looks like what you would get if you made a reindeer out of clear glass that had a rainbow sheen, and filled the inside with fairy lights. According to the website, it's a best seller. No small mystery why, if other people have partners like mine.

My joy at discovering there is an entire genre of statuary known as "The Porch Goose" is tempered somewhat by the disappointment that they are all very docile-looking. This lad is excellent, but what if he was wingspread and hissing like a gargoyle? I'd put that on my porch in a heartbeat.
A garden statue of a goose, excellently sculpted but very placid and polite-looking. Made out of concrete.

Our 3rd anniversary, and I think this is the first time we bought a cake for the occasion? Anyway, we nailed it.
A dome cake from a professional bakery (raspberry mousse and white chocolate sponge, which you can't tell by looking at it, but I thought you might be wondering) in the shape of a giant cartoonish ladybug.

Well it only took two moves and 7 (!) years but I managed to finally find the bookplate at the same time I found the books, and reunited them once and for all (not pictured: I did finally remove the backings and stick them inside)
A partial photo of a bright pink envelope addressed to my first name from Danielle Corsetto, Girls With Slingshots, in ShepherdstownA picture of two bookplates with sticker backing, along with the instructions on how to apply them. All three items are sitting on top of the casing for the Girls With Slingshots hardcover 2-volume omnibus collection

Wow. This is the most savage I've seen a review be in a while, and I'm kinda here for it? Like, I don't care about this show, I'm not the target audience, but the review is the perfect balance of scathing and succinct. Caustic but poetic, like a campfire.
Promo image of Michelle Yeoh from the upcoming series "Star Trek: Section 31". Below her is IGN'S review score (2 out of 10) along with a review summary that reads: "Section 31 will infuriate Star Trek fans and bore everyone else. It is rote and derivative and doesn't even look good. Michelle Yeoh has a moment here and there where she shows off a cool fight move, and that's the only thing keeping it from getting a 1, our lowest score."
