You are such a generous person! 🩵

It's been like this for a couple years.

One of a whole thrifted collection you'd like, I think :)

Turning 6 in two weeks, Eileen! 😭 Much love to you!

Well. I think other mediums offer a greater sense of verisimilitude, but this one is more hands-on and involved; there's a shared agency or a more convincing illusion of it.

There's something in me that loves baseline sad cultural production and still can't wrap my head around this.

Is this a bad time to say i wish cigarettes weren't so cool

010

Yeah, we clearly need to catch up!! Also, you know what's unhinged? Video game sadness. I thought I liked to dwell in sad dad rock & music for depressives, but then I found out video games can ruin your life in the first half hour of playtime!

Added a week on The Last of Us in my Monsters + Monstrosity class. We have a Critical Games Studies program & a lab w/a great setup at UNC. A grad student well versed in the game gave a guest talk on it and the show and a fascinating chapter ("Mycelial Minds") from Merlin Sheldrake's book on fungi.

It's part of a unit on narrative and temporality/where did my three-day weekend go

I deactivated twitter several days ago. I think a congratulations is in order. (I'll probably reactivate after it.)

If you’re using a family analogy for the nation, or your workplace, or anything really that’s not your fucking family, it doesn’t work. It’s not a family. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.

Too late but next time i will (also never doing another edited volume again)

010

I had proofs and lists of terms from each author, but it was still a 32-essay volume, and neverrrr again

020

This is abundantly clear in hindsight. Live and learn, and never repeat this particular mistake!

020

It's a 32-essay volume I co-edited, and I have never been more done with anything in my life.
