I am about to start reading this little number. Don't let the pink cover fool you. It's in the thriller/horror genre. #BookSky 📚#autumnreading #autumnvibes🍁

Today's book haul. I bought the two on the left and took the two on the right from a Little Free Library. (I donated about 10 books back to said LFL too). #BookSky #lovereading #fallreading #TBR 📚

I read the article this AM thanks to @marcusluther.bsky.social posting it as a gift article. It was heartbreaking.

Two books I recently finished reading. The left one is YA fantasy that I thought was just okay, but the powerful ending changed my mind! The right one had tough themes of domestic violence and was set in rural Alaska, but it was also great. Two very different books but strong FMCs. #BookSky 📚

No core class should be that large. Only PE or an elective class with the space (band/orchestra, art, CTE, etc.)

Apparently it's now a 6- or 7-book series. I haven't read it yet, but my husband is listening to it on audio. He's on Book #2 now.

The Lottery by Shirley Jackson or any short stories by Edgar Allen Poe or Ray Bradbury.

000

stacyb1@bsky.social @stacyb1.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

Underrated genres: literature for kids/teens (YA/middle grades/kids), romance, suspense/thriller, and horror.

stacyb1@bsky.social @stacyb1.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I just read Anna Karenina for the first time and really enjoyed it. Most classics that I read in school were amazing! Stand-outs: F451, Brave New World, anything by Shakespeare, Edgar Allen Poe or Ray Bradbury short stories, Animal Farm, Watership Down, etc.

Over 300 books are in my library queue and I have about 100 books that I own but haven't read yet. Next up on my own stash: Remarkably Bright Creatures, The Personal Librarian, and I forgot the other one on my nightstand.

Yes, I read some non-fiction but prefer fiction.

More recently Lisbeth from The Girl With the Dragon tattoo trilogy stands out as a strong female protagonist.

I can't choose a series now but growing up, I devoured Nancy Drew mysteries. I read a lot of The Nancy Drew Files (the #GenX 1980s era ones) but I still have a bunch of the OG ones in hardback from the 1930s.

I have the whole HoN series. They are much better written than the Twilight series, LOL.

stacyb1@bsky.social @stacyb1.bsky.social · 07/09/2026

I read a lot of different genres/authors/series. I read mostly fiction and tend to lean towards literary fiction, historical fiction, and sci-fi or fantasy. I am currently reading 2 very different books: The Gilded Ones by Namina Forna (YA fantasy) & The Great Alone by Kristin Hannah (lit fiction).

This is exactly what I said, LOL. I try to tell them once they find a genre / author they like, reading becomes less of a chore for them, i.e. less work. Please drop your recs for middle grades (tweens ages 11-14) books by Black/Hispanic authors with Black/Hispanic MCs especially.

Just started reading this book by a local-ish author after buying this book from a local bookstore (Tales & Tails in FXBG). Trying out a new #fantasy book (or #romantasy?) for a change. #BookSky 🐉🩷📚 #hotbooksummer #lovereading #bibliophile

My current read. I am about halfway through it. Behind the will-this-nerd-get-together-with-his-crush-from-college, the author skewers liberal arts education, academia, humanities majors, and as a current middle school English teacher, I am here for it. 😆 #BookSky #literaryfiction ✒️📚

Friends - I may DNF this book. I have read 97 pages or about a third of it, but I just can't get into it. I decided to put it on "pause" for now. I started reading The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek today, which is much easier to read and way more interesting!

This is my current read, which I checked out from the library. The author is Hungarian so this book is translated. The prose is dense so it's hard to get through, but I think it's important for me to challenge myself with my reading. #BookSky #Hotbooksummet #lovereading #bibliophile
