i think the term "AI" was already there when i was a little kid, to describe all these non-unauthorized-genAI techs. and i think we should try to put some effort to decipher and differentiate what is the "AI" we are actually talking about. The conflation/confusion is what the techno fascists want.

its kinda offensive if you think a machine translation can take our jobs realistically, bc translation is a writing skill. just bc youre fluent in a language it doesnt make you a skilled writer or a poet. +niche knowledges are often needed so you cant even easily replace one translator with another.
