AI changed for me the way how deep can I customize #Emacs. Lisp was a wall previously. But today all I need is to just tell LLM what I want. For example, GLM-5.3-flash just made for me a dashboard with manga reading progress as an org-file synced with "kitsu.app" API 🤩

I'm experimenting with out-of-core graph algorithms, such as finding all the connected components of a 2B-edge graph with a memory limit of 7 GB, etc. I'm starting to worry that it may just kill my disk — can it do that? Would it be better to use an AWS instance?

Residential buildings in #Belgrade, former #Yugoslavia, built around 70th. I like these #brutalism elements of urbanism. What is cool is that this inner yard is ~5 meters above the ground, a space without cars. Feels like temperature is 5-7 degrees less here. Very important when it is 40C outside!

It is interesting that modernist architects of the former Yugoslavia did not know about #brutalism due to the Iron Curtain. They reinvented it by themselves independently coming to the idea that raw concrete is beautiful! #Belgrade #SocialistModernism

I finally got a week of vacation! Of course it means a new #cycling trip! The first day, from Valjevo to Perucac (Serbia). A quite hard mountain pass named Debelo Brdo is left behind! Tara National Park is the next goal!

A very sad story happened in #Georgia with a man I know. He is a pro-democracy activist who was forced to leave #Russia for Georgia under threat of imprisonment. He couldn't stay away from the the current protests against #authority. He was arrested by the police on a false drug charge...

In Georgia, two Russians were detained on charges of drug possession. They claim that the drugs were planted on them for participating in protest actions.

The publication "Vot Tak" reports on the detention of Anastasia Zinovkina and Artem Gribulia.

The police of Georgia detained the couple on December 17 near their home. The investigation accuses them of possessing drugs in particularly large quantities — they were found with 16 grams of Alpha PVP. Zinovkina and Gribulia assert that the drugs were planted on them after participating in protests in Georgia. Anastasia was also involved in political activism in Russia, her friend adds.

The couple moved to Georgia at the end of 2022. In 2023, Zinovkina briefly traveled to Armenia, after which Georgian border guards did not allow her to return. Ultimately, the couple managed to return to Tbilisi in the summer of 2024.

Hotel Yugoslavia was one of my favorite examples of #Yugoslav #modernism. So sad to see such a "reconstruction" as the local gov called it. Now I can understand how #Belgrade, being the oldest permanently populated city in Europe, has no building older than 100 years... #believeinfilm #35mm

Just updated the results of my own ML feature generation benchmark. The latest version of #DuckDB is really a blast! Of course, the comparison is not fair for #Spark: the single node benchmark is a worst case for it... By the way, nice to see how #Datafusion #Comet provides about 1.65x boost!
