My university is revoking my $45,000 scholarship over a false "Al detector" match, refusing to look at my Google Docs edit history.
Advice needed
I am facing academic suspension and a massive financial loss because my universitys automated plagiarism tool flagged my 30-page senior thesis as Al-generated.
LOCATION: New York, US. I am a senior at a private university, attending on a merit-based $45,000-a-year scholarship. Last month, I submitted my 30-page senior thesis, which I spent six months researching and writing completly by hand.
Last Tuesday, my advisor informed me that the university's automated plagiarism software flagged my paper as "98% probability Al-generated." I have been officially accused of academic dishonesty.
The academic integrity board held a preliminary hearing. I brought my laptop and offered to show them my Google Docs version history, which clearly shows my entire writing process over six months, edit by edit, typo by typo.
The discipinary board literally refused to look at my screen. They said university policy is to rely strictly on the software's official report, claiming the tool is highly calibrated and accurate.
The proposed disciplinary action includes an automatic failing grade, academic suspension, and the immediate revocation of my scholarship. I cannot afford to pay $45k out of pocket to finish my degree, and this will ruin my future career.
Can I sue the university for breach of contract or hire a lawyer to get an injunction to stop this process before the final decision is made? What are my options?

analogy can be a double edged sword. here, dijkstra tries to explain how AI works entirely differently than a human mind despite how much its function may resemble one. yet, someone can still interpret it as “yeah, AI thinks, and it does it better”. the analogy doesn’t help here at all. :/

somehow @home-assistant.io managed to make their progress bars worse. it looks very generic now with fully rounded corners and a rolling gradient which is faint, hard to read, and has different semantics (loading placeholder). maybe they picked it because of some other reason, but it’s a step back.
