Hi protocol friends! I've been cooking up a Very Large PDS (vlpds) implementation capable of scaling up to billions of accounts and down to just one. It uses Object Storage as its only state, supports HA operation, live scaling up and down, is feature-complete with the reference PDS, and is FOSS.
vlpds.jazco.dev
Overview · vlpds docs
An atproto PDS whose only durable storage is an object store. Any node serves any request, one node can run a personal server for free, and a few nodes can carry all of Bluesky's write load.

- local governments and institutions publishing public records on atproto, by default - save to atproto (spaces) buttons, like save to drive - devices with built-in atproto integrations far into the future: - alternate/competing atmospheres to the current PLC one

it doesn’t try to interpret or summarize the document, it just points to the exact spot if it finds a possible match to your question. it also shows any other relevant clauses that match your question.

First non-atproto thing in a while: SezWhere? I’ve been working with a lot of documents lately and built something to help me find things in them quickly using @typesafeai.bsky.social’s Jev. Using it a lot these days, hopefully others find it useful too.

i initially wanted to use Jev to enrich posts from Jetstream and call it Jevstream. 🙈 this turned out to be better.

Made a little proof of concept with @typesafeai.bsky.social 's Jev. "Jevibe Check" auto-labels posts by tone as you scroll (just in your browser). you can add your own classifiers, and use the labels to blur/collapse the posts if you want to. Jev is extremely fast and super cheap!

You might not have noticed, but leaflet has kick ass list handling, and you can use it as a pretty full featured outliner! Check out this demo :

Looks like eurosky.social setup some kind of wildcard DNS + catch all... any subdomain of it still sends events from its main one! atproto.at/pds/anything... @bad-example.com , @flo-bit.dev fyi

Sri @sri.xyz · 02/09/2026
I had increased limits on all *.eurosky.social in this relay and the relay was consuming the same events (millions) from multiple endpoints and was rejecting the ones from *.eurosky.social pdses. Blocked all the subdomain pdses now.
northamerica relay showing eurosky pdses

Sri @sri.xyz · 02/09/2026
Also, found another issue that was bothering the northamerica relay. Looks like eurosky created some dummy pdses earlier like berlin-demo.eurosky.social, user.eurosky.social etc and for some reason they are now emitting events from actual eurosky.social pds.

Sri @sri.xyz · 02/09/2026
JET is just a bluesky jetstream mirror listening to bsky's relay itself and is a tiny droplet running in digitalocean compared to the other jetstreams on OVH. I believe it doesn't have enough resources to run properly and is restarting continously. Will migrate it to a diff box.

Sri @sri.xyz · 02/09/2026
sorry it took a while. haven't really nailed down why northamerica drops few consumers often. I've setup alerts now when this happens and will debug further. I believe SFO's behavior is related to that since north america relay is its upstream.
