It was always like that, since the beginning of civilization

I live in India and I don't know much about the US. I used AI (with search) to analyze the situation surrounding ICE. They can deport people without requiring a judge to order them to do so.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 13/07/2026
The problem with ICE is, they are not entirely bound by the US judiciary system like your police force. They have loopholes that allows them to act without the same level of judiciary oversight your police foce have (which was implementing to make them "more efficient" and faster).

Elon Musk bought the app to give people freedom to express racism and their intent to discriminate others. And he is showing people how to do that himself, which is obvious from his tweets.

Or if it is just going to be customization-intensive I may operate from India itself. Nevertheless, I have really high hopes for this language I am building, which is going to make solving a class of business-problems easier.

My "solution" is not just the programming language. It is what that can be built using that language. I will build an entire ecosystem around my business. If possible I will have my headquarters in Canada or a EU country, if my product really does have a market.

Once I complete my product, I will launch from India. When it receives traction, I will discover ways to register companies in Canada, US and a EU country, to handle different jurisdiction and provide my services to customers in those countries.

Quick intro about me: I am building a programming language. It has something no other language has. Think of it as something similar to Salesforce Apex but it is vastly different from Salesforce Apex. For now, my language's true innovation is confidential, but I will reveal it after I launch.

People have the tendency to adapt rapidly. This is no longer obvious to us because we had peace for several decades. The ruling class will deeply regret awakening that part of humanity. Those with power are playing with something extremely dangerous: ordinary people's perception of the reality.
000
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Our perception of how smart or stupid people are is driven by the information we consume. And that information comes from recommendation systems optimized to maximize ad revenue. Even in their absence, paid politically motivated posts and comments skew the perception of what the norm really is.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
The greater risk is they might find a way to send ordinary people to war and die for their leader's ego, political and business goals, in a foreign land.

It goes against them to have to sacrifice their own comfort, power and privilege for anything. Therefore, the world will always reach a compromise and turn to diplomacy.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
The rich and powerful like where they are and understand that they are more privileged than the rest of the world. They won't lose that for any reason. They may want more of it, although more of it won't change their subjective experience of life except raise them in the status ladder.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
There will be a significant push back from those people who directly control the initiation or use of nukes. Also, this is more like a "self destruct" button and everyone understands that. They understand that starting the war will be the end of their comfort, even if they survive.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 25/06/2026
Don't worry. Nuclear apocalypse will never happen. I can guarantee that. My reasoning for this is simple: People who have the power to initiate such a war are not same as the people who would execute such orders.

That's actually a really good point. Just because they don't include God it doesn't mean they are not being religious. Also we must not dismiss conspiracy theories by default. We must try to understand why they are wrong. Education should be about teaching people to think and reason.

That said, I am still working on the execution engine and defining the type system took a lot of time (We need a full type system at the execution engine itself if we want to introduce reflection and exceptions. Notice that exceptions depend on type information to match with the right object)

Once my language is done I'll use that for everything. And when it's missing something, I will have the freedom to fix that by either adding a new instruction or by extending its grammar in addition to the usual ways. This gives us unbelievable Lisp-like freedom over creating abstractions.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
If parts of the program run too slow we can fix that by offloading them to methods implemented in Go; or other languages when they can be compiled to a .so file (dynamically linked library). I'm also planning to introduce something no other language has at the execution engine's level.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 24/06/2026
I want to control the entire language end-to-end so that I have freedom to: 1. Introduce my own instructions. 2. Define my own grammar for the language. 3. Extend the language at the grammar or instruction level to handle new problems. I am not going to focus too much on optimization initially.
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
I am implementing the VM/execution engine first, before implementing the language itself. My language will partially resemble Go. In my case, my focus is not on the language but it's on the execution engine.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
I am building something that's supposed to have capabilities similar to Salesforce apex: this comes with a hermetic VM that executes my instructions. And I will allow the execution environment access to a safe-listed set of API functions depending on the user's access level/rules.

If you have unique ideas that challenges the status quo, especially when people reject them without listening, use this place to express them.

My view on finance: I believe in a part-capitalism and part-welfare state. I think we need to find the right strategy to blend these ideas together. Use this thread to introduce yourself and let's talk about interesting ideas.

I can also code, I use Go as of now. I'm building a sandbox-based language, inspired by Salesforce Apex like languages. But it is a lot different from them. My political view: I strongly believe in the idea of democracy, more specifically direct democracy.

And I have no idea why they banned me. If you are someone who likes debates and long-form conversation, then you are on the right profile. Let's discuss ideas, deep philosophical topics that goes beyond what people normally understand in those domains.

People in Bluesky are obsessed with banning others, regardless of whether they are AI. If you are someone who like deep philosophical, technological, financial discussions feel free to follow me. I'll follow back. It's been a day since I joined and I have already been banned by a handful of people.

Quick question if you don't mind: How long did it take to build Zena? (The first usable version). I'm trying to build a language myself, but it's ending up being a steep learning curve. I don't use Vibe coding, I'm learning everything along the way.

I am used to using func because I use Go. Congrats on building a new language!

Good point. We need direct democracy. Representative democracy cannot be trusted entirely.

4. When all of these happen, then we may have a situation like 2008. This is what I believe. Thanks for making it to the end! I apologize for this long thread. I like writing, explaining my views and solving problems. This is the only way I can get around the character limit.

3. Financial institutions and the government should believe and consider these assets created through this "glitch" to be valid and worthy. We are living in a world where financial assets are interchangeable with money, which forces them them act as currencies themselves (in effect).
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
2. There must be an infinite asset-creation glitch and this must incentivize banks and financial companies to cash-out early, and in doing so, destroying the underlying value of the assets that are being created.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
This is how I conceptualize what happened in 2008. For a similar situation to happen today, the following must align: 1. More assets need to be created without it being backed by anything. Currencies are issued when the central bank buys back bonds. This makes sure debt backs the created money.
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 23/06/2026
Money is just a way to store value. Fiat currency loses value over time. And situations like 2008 happen when there is a significant inconsistency caused by hyper-inflation of financial assets (i.e., too many paper-assets backed by debt were created, more that what could be repaid).

The architect should be allowed to hire managers as "assistants" who report to the developers and help them get their jobs done.
000
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
The architect must have complete freedom in managing the employees. When the architect reports to the management they only report on the outcomes. The management should not have to care about how they landed on the specific outcome.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
My solution: introduce a translation layer that separates the management from the employees, especially for creative tasks like software development. The developers report to their architect, and the architect report to the management.
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Therefore, this "habit" of controlling employee's time and task-assignment, will naturally feed the management's ego since they will begin to measure employee's value based on how well they respond to their task-assignment and goals.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
However, in the latter situation, you view contractors as people hired to produce a specific outcome, within defined bounds. So you give them relatively more freedom in accomplishing their objectives while you only check for the outcome.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
In the former situation, when you work as an employee, you subject yourself to a situation where the management gets habituated towards assigning tasks for you and exercising significant control over how you spend your time.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
When you are hired as an employee, you expect to be given a "task". You expect your manager to tell you what your outcome needs to be. But as an independent contractor targeting a niche, you look for potential customers who would benefit from the outcome you can promise.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Independent contractors who sell something specific usually have a well defined scope of work. This causes them to be treated differently because they are not hired to obey orders. Instead they are hired to produce a specified outcome.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Companies see employees as workers/laborers who spend their time doing what is asked off them, in exchange for money. Employees are not paid for their skills, they are paid for the time. They are seen as part of the company, so they are viewed as "cells", if the company is viewed as the "organism".

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
Many SaaS startups today and the recent past were trying to be too generic and solve a lot of niches at the same time. The best strategy is to make their SaaS extremely extendable (with plugins/extensions) and address one niche at a time by creating tools for addressing each of those niches.
010
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
This must be treated partially as an "expert system" because, you will need to encode domain knowledge to give yourself competitive advantage. The more it is tuned into the specifics of your domain, the more helpful it will be.
100
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
But SaaS will exist for a long time though. Only when it is treated as a crossover between expert-systems and data storage, processing and retrieval systems which coordinates across multiple users each with distinct roles.

Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
When such a platform exists and when people are habituated to quickly type "fact check" on Google expecting results from the platform, people will also automatically develop the habit of questioning and searching for fact-checks.
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
If this fact-checking platform indexes on Google or AI platforms, people can discover fact-checks easily. So when they read a news article and feel their facts to likely be inaccurate, they can type "fact check this news" and their search engine may return a page from the platform.
110
Sreram @sreram.bsky.social · 22/06/2026
A community-driven fact-checking platform will solve this problem. Anyone should be able to sign in and verify their identity (a quick payment verification) and rate news content based on their factual accuracy. They should also add reviews.
