Administrators shouldn't look away and ignore a toxic employee (opinion)
Inaction is not an option, writes Jenny Silver. It’s magical thinking to believe that unprofessional behavior will simply disappear without intervention.

💡 The perception of mental health disorders is continually shaped by digital spaces. They should not be taken as mere anecdotes but an essential part of the larger picture into understanding psychopathology. 7/N

🚨 Neither diagnostic criteria nor online health communities give a holistic view of psychopathology. But together they offer complementary perspectives: • one shaped by clinical expertise & tradition • the other by lived experience & modern challenges 6/N

📊 Reddit vs Diagnostic Criteria Only 6% of links are present in both networks, yet broader clusters partly align. Some results echo dimensional frameworks like HiTOP: 🌀 Internalizing cluster: depression, anxiety & OCD 🌀 Thought disorders cluster: psychosis, trauma & personality disorders 5/N

We also observe (with some caveats) that addiction recovery communities (alcohol, opioids, impulse-control) show negative ties 🚫 to much of the network, which may reflect symptom-focused isolation & (self‑)stigmatization despite known comorbidities. 🟥 See here: tinyurl.com/reddit-psych... 4/N

🧠 Trauma, dissociation & avoidance emerge as central transdiagnostic hubs. 🛡️ Entire ICD‑10 categories: psychotic (F2), mood (F3) and personality disorders (F60) have fuzzy boundaries, linking more across than within categories. 🌐 Network of positive associations: tinyurl.com/reddit-psych... 3/N
