If Farage resigns for real or is done for corruption & Polanski loses in Holborn is the era of multi-party politics over and the two party system back on ?

Authorial endorsement. In the end, audiences treated both shows as conventional wish fulfilment, which was their own fault.

Them otherwise. You spend 8 seasons loving the Starks or Targaryens you feel the story owes you a satisfying political victory for those characters, spend 9 seasons waiting for the Mother, you feel she must be the permanent romantic conclusion. But audiences confuse emotional investment with

Engaged in narrative deception right from the off when the pilot made you think he was talking about the mother when in actual fact it was Aunt Robin. Much like Game of Thrones, the audience was the main problem, they treated the show like a conventional story despite the writers repeatedly telling

In love & meets happily ever after, it was one that reflected real life, that marriages end by death or divorce, that people love again & that the concept of one "love of your life" is childish fantasy. How it ended kept in line with how the show always portrayed itself, it was always a show that

Disagree HIMYM was the story of a grieving widower reconstructing the tale of his life & asking his children permission to begin a new chapter. It wasn't that the Mother didn't matter its that she wasn't the endpoint of his emotional journey. The show was never a conventional boy meets girl, falls

HIMYM has so much more emotional depth than Friends, Friends is just a one dimensional sitcom for the boorish masses

I'm curious why you don't group the books that you read into a unifying thread like you do with movies, I would certainly welcome the ability to see all your recommendations consolidated in one easy to reference thread.

The older I get the more I don't like sex & nudity in TV/film. Particularly post Me Too when he here so many stories about actresses & sometimes men feeling uncomfortable in doing so. Just seems unnecessary

With Arteta, Merino & Zubimendi. Of course he is 29 however I feel like since his game isn't based on pace you might get more yrs out of him and if his goals can deliver a few more titles then £64m in today's market wouldn't be bad, despite a lack of resale value

srd88.bsky.social @srd88.bsky.social · 22/07/2026
Oyarzabal has a £64m buyout clause, I don't know how Sociedad plays, but Spain are obviously similar to us in the sense that they play possession dominant high press football & he seems more fitting 9 to our pay, operating in tight spaces spaces than Gyokeres, plus there is the Basque connection

Bruno has that X factor, plus he's in his prime. Given all the other teams are in a period of transition with them all having new managers we need to go for the jugular & get that second title by getting a match winner in his prime even it it means we get less yrs or little to no resale value

Exciting but it is effective, considering this is how they won the Euros. They have lost 2 games under the current coach, 0 in tournament football & conceded 1 in 6 so far They dominated Belgium in every statistic & the BBC highlights showed 18 highlights in total 12-6 in Spain's favor

I would counter that by saying, they're not packed with superstars like France that can deliver magic moments, they have an almost club like feel to them, they rely on the system to deliver chances: dominate possession, control the game, chip away til they get the break through & so it's not very

I'm not fussed, based on available information the USMNT did not ask for this. it all happened above their head & have been unfairly attached to the unilateral actions of their President. Belgium have been pretty guff, & USA have been more entertaining, let the football decide

Confirmation bias, you don't like it, you see a player f it up therefore its all bad. Neymar was one of the 1st big name players I remember doing it, according to transfermrkt.co.uk he took 115 pens, scoring 93 which is an 81% conversion rate, CR7 is 83%

The big question is how will that translate into seats at Westminster, I wonder if the calculation by Labour HQ, at least before Polanski, was that they could afford to lose a higher vote share to Grns than Reform because they threatened in the cities where Labour had it to spare & Reform

And The first two seasons of The Mandalorian Original characters, locations and stories Crucially they need to give Darth Vader a rest, I would happily never see him again in a SW production

I won't be going to see it, The Mandalorian's arc ended in the season 2 finale & the weakness of season 3 proved that for me With the exception of Rogue One & Clone Wars season 7, Disney Star Wars in my view is at its best when it is removed from the timeline of the movies: Rebels, Andor, Bad Batch

This is reactionary, anti-intellectualist, luddite tripe. Cartoons used to be all hand drawn until the 90s when CAPs started to take over. Was Toy Story slop ? Should we get rid of electricity so the gas lamp lighters can have their jobs back ? Shall we ditch the tractor & go back to 20 people

That idea of going to the cinema for a blockbuster movie is 100% my dad. He sees the big screen as being for big action-packed movies, not your Sorkin style dialogue only movies. To think as well that you pay the same price for a ticket to a £50m budget movie as you do for one budgeted @ £200m

2019 there is bound to a sense of general incumbency fatigue If the SA had been able to improve housing, hadn't scrapped the public holiday & weren't so blatantly talking down their own voters they would no doubt be in a much stronger position

srd88.bsky.social @srd88.bsky.social · 23/11/2025
Nor did you mention that SA are facing backlash from voters over the scrapping of a public holiday to pay for defence spending, failed to get a grip on Denmark's housing crisis & openly talk down liberal Copenhagen in order to appeal to rural voters not to mention that having been in power since
