"Prismatic Gaze" is a reminder that we all see the world through our own prism, & that beauty is often found in the countless shades. This is an invitation: to look deeper, embrace complexity, & recognize the vibrant humanity reflected in every face. #art

Imagine where you'd be if every fear you've listened to had made every decision for you. Now imagine where you could be if courage got a vote. The distance between the two is often one attempt. Take a chance.

"Blonde Fever" Acrylic paint on cardstock #art

"Blonde Fever" by S.R.Chappell is an explosion of glamour turned electric, transforming the iconic mythology of Marilyn Monroe into a kaleidoscope of heat, color, and restless energy. Rendered in acrylic on card stock, the portrait abandons realism in favor of emotional saturation: molten yellows, lacquer reds, acid turquoise, and bruised violets collide across the surface like a Hollywood dream melting under neon lights.

The exaggerated contrasts and painterly contours evoke both Pop Art spectacle and expressionist distortion, capturing not simply Monroe’s beauty, but the unstable intensity of celebrity itself. Her face appears luminous yet ghostlike, suspended between seduction and performance, intimacy and iconography. The swirling hair becomes almost flame-like, consuming the composition in cinematic motion, while the stark white skin reads less as flesh than as projection screen, reflecting society’s endless fascination with the blonde bombshell archetype.

Chappell’s treatment of Monroe feels both celebratory and haunted. The painting pulses with vintage glamour, yet beneath the saturated palette lies a subtle tension: fame as fever dream, beauty as costume, identity as something constantly rewritten by the public gaze. "Blonde Fever" is less a portrait of Marilyn Monroe than a portrait of the cultural wildfire she became. ✨ NFT Available via objkt.com Prints available via Redbubble.com

"Ska Chickadees"
Mixed media on card stock: ink, marker, and colored pencil by S.R. Chappell

Perched together like a tiny ska-punk choir on a flowering branch, the birds in "Ska Chickadees" burst with personality, rebellion, and affection. Dressed in checkerboard prints, fishnets, combat boots, leather jackets, and bright riotous colors, these singing chickadees become playful stand-ins for chosen family and lifelong friendship.

For S.R. Chappell, Chickadee is an endearing term for her closest girlfriends, transforming the work into both a celebration and a portrait of community. Each bird carries its own distinct style and attitude, yet together they create a harmony of individuality and belonging, like bandmates sharing the same song while dancing to their own rhythm. 🎶🐦

Rendered with intricate ink detail and energized by vivid marker and colored pencil, the piece balances sweetness with subcultural edge. Punk aesthetics collide with woodland whimsy, creating a world where tenderness wears studded jackets and friendship sings louder than conformity.

Bright, humorous, and deeply affectionate, "Ska Chickadees" captures the joy of finding your flock: the people who let you be loud, strange, colorful, and completely yourself.

Hello Atlanta! I hope your having a beautiful weekend! #art

A fever-dream skyline rises above the endless current of Atlanta traffic, transformed into a neon-tinted metropolis humming with velocity and heat. In "Atlanta", S.R. Chappell bends the familiar cityscape into something both celebratory and surreal, where pastel skies collide with electric pink overpasses and towering buildings glow like circuitry against the horizon. The layered use of graphite, colored pencil, and Sharpie marker creates a striking tension between precision and distortion. Detailed architectural rendering grounds the piece in realism, while saturated colors and exaggerated outlines push the image into pop-art hallucination. The monochrome highway below becomes a river of movement, contrasting against the candy-colored city that looms overhead like a synthetic sunrise.
