Game design isn’t about being able to identify problems. Everyone who plays games can identify problems. Game design is about diagnosing player experience, having intent, and executing. I think to a lot of folks outside dev, game criticism (an art in itself) is seen as interchangeable with design.

okay not gonna finish the battle system by today but i did finish the item menu!

Kitsune girl in a 3D dungeon view fighting a large red snake. There are stats and a deck of cards on screen. In the center of a screen is an item list showing an energy drink, 3 throwing knives, and a summon marble. Scroll indicators point up and down indicating more items are available. A cursor shows the energy drink is selected and the info bar reads "Drink to gain Focus"
