I'm not Alaskan, so I don't have to actually make this decision. I might if the Dem running against the GOP incumbent for my Congressional district also goes transphobic. I'm looking past Nov 2026 here - we don't just have to worry about the GOP, but about Democrats becoming just as bad.

I'm trans myself. This isn't a matter of moral purity for people like me. This is a matter of whether I'll be allowed to hold down a job or use public bathrooms or get HRT in the coming years. This stuff is *existential* for us. And existence will get a lot harder if transphobia becomes bipartisan.

One guess I have is that a disturbing number of Dem politicians are Actually Transphobic, and are using the "bright blue year" as an *opportunity* to throw us under the bus. Reason being, they can depress the pro-TQ+ vote without costing them the election. I have no direct evidence for this...
