For #MakeATerribleComicDay2026 I made a comic that’s basically a making of my latest blog post* about how to show your support for your fav online people with a CoffeeRoll page. And just look at how terrible it truly is! * blog.spu.io/a-new-way-to...
A terribly drawn comic:
PREVIOUSLY ON COFFEROLL FOR HUMANITY:
Pink asks: I CAN HAZ COFFEE PLZ?
Green yells: NO!
Blue: I'LL BUY YOU A COFFEE!
Yellow: AND I'LL BUY YOU A COFFEE!
Red: AND I'LL BUY YOU A COFFEE!
Orange: WE'LL ALL BUY YOU COFFEE!
Purple: NORMALIZE GIVING COFFEE!
NOW ON COFFEEROLL FOR HUMANITY:
Purple: COFFEEROLLS! COFFEEROLLS! GET YOUR COFFEE ROLLS TO SUPPORT YOUR FAVORITE ARTISTS?

Opening #WWDC with “more apps released than ever” just a few days after that “How much value is AI really creating?” Financial Times story sure is an interesting choice.
graph from an FT.com story:
"Agentic AI spurred a boom in mobile app releases, but there is no sign of these apps gaining traction"
"Relative change in monthly volumes of iOS app releases and reviews (2024 average =100)"
line graph showing three blue lines and a shaded period of its X (time) axis starting at 2025. the darker one labeled "App releases", goes from 100 to 180 during that time. the medium blue one labeled "App reviews" dips below average during that time. the light blue one labeled "Apps with significant usage" stays pretty flat.

The disclaimer:
Al Generated Content Disclosure
The developers describe how their game uses Al
Generated Content like this:
Of course, we used some artificial intelligence technologies to speed up our business processes and produce higher quality and better-performing games. We used Claude for code development, ChatGPT for visual production, created the game's cover art with ChatGPT, and wrote the game's overall code architecture with the help of Claude. These Als significantly sped up our work, but absolutely do not think: "the developers produced this game without any hassle, using only a single prompt." This thought is completely wrong. What actually happened was that we gave these Als some of the tasks we would have done ourselves, and they did them in stages to speed up the process. Even with this setup, it still took 6 months to finish the game.

Are you trolling me @unormal.bsky.social? Yesterday's daily saw me encounter a gelatinous wedge for the first time, be immediately engulfed by it... and then another. Today I am greeted by this warden?!
The starting area of the Caves of Qud daily challenge of February 28th, 2026. The first thing we see is a gelatinous wedge. They are friendly to us, or at least neutral, but we can feel them laughing at us on the inside. The same inside we got trapped in yesterday, the first time we encountered one of their kind, where we were almost digested. And the second time we encountered them, less than a minute after surviving the first encounter, while still confused from the medicine that saved our life, trying to rest to heal, in complete darkness, holding our two-handed sword, unable to find a torch in our inventory over all the confusion, therefore not even seeing them coming. And even this we survived! We didn't die until much later... in the flames of our own grenade... but that is not important right now.

“pop band Chumbawamba” tho

One of the surprising legacies of the short-lived Diggers is their protest anthem, composed by Winstanley, called "Diggers' Song." This anthem was carried by Quakers into the New World, where it was adopted by the Amish, Mennonites, and other agrarian religious groups, and later, labor movements in the U.S., the U.K., and the Soviet Union. English folksinger Leon Rosselson recorded the anthem under the title "You Noble Diggers All," while pop band Chumbawamba included it in their 1988 release English Rebel Songs 1381-1914.
010
spu @spu.io · 13/08/2025
In 1649, the Diggers began vegetable gardens in common land in Surrey and posted announcements in the area announcing free meat, drink, and clothes to anyone who would join their commune and help work the common land. Their intent was to get enough citizens to join the Diggers and contribute their small parcels of land to the cause that the whole area would become privately owned communal property. Because property ownership equaled power, this would make the Diggers a powerful political influencer, so the local authorities stepped in and chased the Diggers out of Surrey. For the next couple of years, smaller Digger communities appeared in other parts of England, but by 1651, the movement was over, largely due to government interference. Gone, but not forgotten - more than 300 years later, an offshoot of the San Francisco Mime Troupe calling themselves Diggers set up camp in Golden Gate Park and gave out free food, free clothes, and preached to passersby about socialism, anarchy, and the joys of living an agrarian lifestyle.

Music Theory for Dummies is a comrade? Gotta say I kinda dig it.
1649 - England, the Diggers
The Diggers started out as a group of 15 Protestant farmers and landowners who decided to form their own commune and isolate themselves from the rest of England, specifically from the power of the monarchy and the Church of England. Founded by Quaker activist Gerrard Winstanley, the Diggers (or True Levellers, as they're also sometimes called) believed in economic equality and a strict leveling of the social order. They are considered to be the first post-Roman Empire European socialist/ anarchist communi-ty, and while they were a relatively small community of group-owned farms scattered across England, the impact of their ideas, and especially their music, lasted centuries longer than they did.
