Happy #PortfolioDay ! I'm SP Shade. I'm an indie author and artist who writes books about high seas adventures in fantasy worlds with largely queer casts. I'm currently working on a DnD-inspired anthology series about a crazed cambion pirate! You can find my books here!: linktr.ee/spshade

Follow the cambion pirate Captain Sally through a series of high-seas adventures through a DnD-inspired world, facing rock titans larger than life and dragons that can swallow her whole. Sally doesn't fear danger; danger fears her. #indie #booksky #dnd #📚💙

I FINALLY got Sally's reference sheet done! So happy I get to finally share them. I'm currently working on a series of short stories following their adventures, the first one I'm hoping to have published by the end of the month! #indie #oc #📚💙 #artsky

The primary reference of Captain Sally. She has a last name, but it is crossed out. She is a cambion with long light purple horns, though her right one (image left) is chipped. She has a short crew cut with purple hair and split eyebrows. Her eyes are narrowed and yellow. Her skin is blue. She has a long tail that is curved at the end. She has scars on her face and arms, which are purple because her blood is purple. She is wearing a black, white, and gold pirate outfit, which has been ripped.

Sally is lunging forward. Her normally slender fingers are thick daggers. Her sharp teeth are barred. Blue fire balls are by her head.

Cover art for the independent novella Talia's Curse. It features silhouettes of the protagonists, Valeria and Esperanza. Visible features of their silhouettes are Esperanza's afro and Valeria' cavalier hat. Esperanza is laying in an eternal slumber, while Valeria is looming over her, prepared to break her curse. Their silhouettes are in front of a blue background. They are behind a door lined with sea shells, which is also in front of a dark purple background.

Very basic new redesign of my character Sally (This is not her final design, just a basic idea of how I want her new self to look). She's very different from when I previously drew her. Now they're slightly* more unhinged *way more (Character goes by she/they) #oc #dnd #pirate #cambion

Prince Valeria is leaning over Queen Esperanza, who is in an eternal sleep. She is holding her hand and leaning forward to kiss her.

Holy fuck, I drew something -- Meet the protagonists of my upcoming sapphic Sleeping Beauty retelling. They were both cursed to an eternal slumber, and so they can communicate with each other in a dream realm, using it to work together to defeat the evil fairy who hexed them and break the curse.

Queen Esperanza (she/her, lesbian) and Prince Valeria (She/Him, bisexual). Queen Esperanza is an average height, plus-sized black woman. She is wearing a purple dress with a v cut and long sleeves. Prince Valeria is an average height, thin latina. She is wearing a green and gold vest with a green and gold Puss in Boots hat. She has a sword and is wearing black pants and green boots.

Mermaid’s Blood takes a unique approach to the fabled marine creatures. Mercreatures protect the seas from sea monsters, natural disasters, and pirates. It is said that if someone kills a Mercreature and drinks their blood, they become immortal and forever young, making them a target for pirates.

Aashirya (pirate, she/her) and Beatrix (Mermaid, she/her).
