Reminds me of the recent Dragon’s Dogma II friction issue. Japanese players disliked the friction, American players liked it. Depending on which audience you were trying to satisfy, having more/less friction would be effective/ineffective. No absolute good or bad

“Repeat victimization” is strong language, but that’s what it’s called in criminology and that’s what my MS is in. I can’t think of a better term here anyway

One significant weakness here is that “headcount” doesn’t account for repeat victimization. Some of these layoffs were the same person laid off more than once. Like me 🫠 I would suggest “# layoffs” as a label instead bc “headcount” will always be inaccurate

You might be glad to know there’s been huge work on PS3 emulation with RPCS3. Pacific Rift works, according to the wiki. It’s possible it would even run on a handheld like the Ally or Thor, would almost certainly run on a Steam Deck
