Bringing more Spring smartness to your coding agent doesn't stop with delivering specific diagnostics, it comes with the corresponding quick fixes for those observations as well - now as skills and explanation markdowns that tell the agent precisely how to improve the code and fix the issue 🎉

Our extension for Claude Code can tell your agent what seems to be wrong with your project from a Spring perspective by deliverung diagnostics information directly to the agent - pretty nice to safe tokens and to enhance the agent with more Spring smartness 😎🥳

And the quick fix can not just convert individual references, but several in one go 🥳

Not using the new type-safe property references in Spring Data yet? We are here to help 😎. Introducing a new validation that flags string-based property references automatically - and provides a quick fix to switch to the new mechanism 🚀🥳

If you are building MCP servers with Spring AI, having a good tool description can be key for an LLM to pick the right one. So we added a validation that checks for a (configurable) minimum length - just as a first indicator 😀

The new support for Spring AI in the Spring Tools starts with indexing the Spring AI annotations and giving you a nice overview in the outline view as well as the symbols navigation 😎🥳 @spring-ai.bsky.social

Speaking of performance, we also removed the initial delay when opening the new logical structure view in VSCode for the first time. The content now shows up almost instantly 🚀😎

The language server inside the Spring Tools is built as a Spring Boot application, so we went ahead and integrated the option to create a Project Leyden based AOT cache to improve startup speed and reduce memory consumption of the language server process. Feel free to give it a try... 😀🚀

Just in case something from the Spring Tools isn't working as expected and you would like to submint an issue and attach some logs: we made it a lot easier to configure the log level and the log destination when working inside of Eclipse

Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 19/05/2026
The wait is over, we finally brought back the "Spring" view category in Eclipse, so you can find all the awesome Spring-specific views there: the logical structure view, the symbols view, and the good old dashboard for all your Spring apps in your workspace 🥳😂

Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 07/05/2026
This new validation is awesome, but we don't stop there. Here comes the corresponding quick fix that let's you configure API versioning (both ways, via a WebConfigurer or related Spring Boot properties) without writing everything yourself 🥳😎

Every release introduces new quick fixes to make your life easier when working with Spring projects. This time, we added a quick fix to easily add a configuration class to your Spring Cloud LoadBalancer client annotation - in case this link is missing. Enjoy! 🥳😎

Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 21/04/2026
In preparation of "final" really meaning final in an upcoming Java version (see JEP 500), we added a validation that flags the use of final on autowired fields, which works today, but most likely not anymore in the near future - and is not really the recommended way to use autowired anyway 😉 😎

043
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 31/03/2026
Builder pattern now supported in Spring Tools when analyzing code that defines WebFlux routes in a functional style... 🚀 Now the Spring Tools understand the static methods as well as the builder pattern and visualizes both - for example as a code lens above the handler method definition
022
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 26/03/2026
Nice improvements coming as part of the Spring Tools 5.1.0 release, including syntax highlighting for SQL statements inside of query annotations for Spring Data JDBC projects... 🥳🚀

With the new logical structure view in @springtools.bsky.social, you can define your own custom stereotypes using annotations as well - and see the view update instantly on save 🚀
043
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 19/02/2026
The new logical structure view in the @springtools.bsky.social does not only group things in well-known pre-defined stereotypes. You can bring your own custom stereotypes and include them in the structure as well, for example by defining them in catalog files 🚀
032
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 17/02/2026
Did you know that you can influence the grouping of the elements in the new logical structure view? Click on the grouping icon on the project node and select which groups you would like to enable/disable - and the view will automatically update accordingly 😎
012
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 12/02/2026
The new logical structure view for your Spring Boot projects is based on the stereotypes concept of JMolecules. And stereotype nodes in the structure view allow you to quickly navigate to the corresponding catalog file - in case you wonder how the stereotype definition looks like 🧐

Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 27/01/2026
Using Spring Webflux and "old style" static RouterFunctions methods to define routes in code? We have some good news for you! Whenever we detect this in the source code, there is now a nice little code action showing up that tells the AI assistant in your IDE to convert this for you 🥳🚀😎
022
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 22/01/2026
And in case you have API versioning configured, the @springtools.bsky.social check whether the mentioned version is syntactically correct... 🚀🥳
021
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 20/01/2026
The newly introduced API versioning support in Spring Framework 7 is already nicely supported in the @springtools.bsky.social - for example by double checking for a proper configuration when using it 😎
084
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 15/01/2026
New in Spring Tools 5: controllers now show up with a code lens that summarizes the web configuration that you have in place for the project - and allows you to quickly navigate to it - very useful, especially in combination with the new API versioning support in Spring Framework 7 🥳 🚀
032
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 13/01/2026
Spring Framework 7 comes with an improved way to functionally register bean definitions using the BeanRegistrar interface - and Spring Tools 5 has already support for this built-in, incl. understanding bean definitions + checking and adding matching import annotations 🥳🚀😎
054
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 08/01/2026
Let me introduce you to another new validation in the Spring Tools: it reminds you that you should not try to define the path in the controller annotation itself - and as a bonus, comes with the corresponding quick fix 🥳
073
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 06/01/2026
Did you see the new validations that shipped as part of the recent Spring Tools 5 release? One of them is checking for the correct type when using `@Value` with a classpath resource 🥳

Using the fluent API of Spring Webflux to define routers and defining multiple routes in one go? @springtools.bsky.social analyzes those call chains for you and highlights all the elements of a route when you click on one part of it
032
Spring Tools @springtools.bsky.social · 22/01/2025
Nice symbols for request mappings in the outline view and command palette are not only shown when working with Spring Web MVC controller mappings, but also when using Spring Webflux - even for functional router implementations 🥳
