Have used this technique on my ita bag cover (but done entirely by hand) by tacking down stabilizer with spray glue then folding the edges over to whip stitch and man... I lost track of time but it was definitely more than 6 hours. Would not recommend doing this on anything big.

An ita bag with a black dragon-like face on the front. It has red eyes and an open mouth that shows rubber character charms inside. All edges are meticulously whip stitched, with the exterior stitches in red for contrast. The thin faux leather has wrinkled slightly over the past 2 years but the horns and spikes still hold their shape.

Finally I can share the plush I've been working on for the past month or so: SHRIMP! It was a birthday gift for a close friend:) #plushart

Some WIP photos to prove that yes, this was reconstructed from scratch. I drew the clothes on a pattern piece, scanned and digitized them, and then had them printed on fabric. Since I know minky doesn't print well, I chose a different fabric type for the body though it wasn't quite what I wanted.
