Davante Adams became the latest opponent to dunk on CJ Gardner-Johnson. Adams and the Los Angeles Rams played on this week's edition of “Monday Night Football” against Gardner-Johnson and the Buffalo Bills. The Week 5 matchup took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif. In the second quarter, the Rams had a 1st-and-goal play from the Bills' 4-yard line. Adams beat Bills safety Gardner-Johnson, who was watching him in coverage, with a corner route for the touchdown.

Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn watched his team lose in Week 5 to the Giants and responded to the fan's confidence. Monday was a tough one for Washington Commanders head coach Dan Quinn. And he still doesn't seem to be getting cold feet. Still, Quinn addressed fan confidence after a brutal Week 5 finish against the Giants, according to an X post by Scott Abraham.

Thursday night's matchup featuring the Seattle Seahawks at the Denver Broncos has everything a great game needs before a snap: plenty of grudges, two desperate 3-2 teams and possibly the best looking uniforms of the season. Here's why the Seahawks-Broncos clash might be the game we're still talking about in January. Bad blood and accusations of cheating This is not TNF hype.

The Washington Commanders tied the New York Giants 27-27 on Sunday afternoon, moving to 1-3-1 on the season, while New York is now 3-1-1. For the Commanders, however, it felt like a loss how the game ended. With less than 20 seconds left and in clear field goal range, Washington had to kick the ball through the uprights to win the game.

Whether it's a coaching change or a potentially necessary quarterback shift, there are some NFL teams that need to do something in the opposite direction. There seem to be more average teams than usual as we close out Week 5 of the 2026 NFL Season. The league also feels expansive this year for a number of reasons. Even some of the teams we were pretty high on before the season didn't perform as we expected, and there are some teams that have exceeded expectations.

The Bills are without wide receiver DJ Moore for Monday Night Football. Moore was among the team's inactives, sitting out after aggravating an AC sprain in his left shoulder. He has 12 catches for 178 yards and a touchdown this season. Cornerback Dee Alford (ankle) also will not play. Rookie wide receiver Skyler Bell and rookie cornerback Jalon Kilgore were active for the first time.

The Detroit Lions offense is on another level this season. Ranked 1st in the NFL in points scored, and 5th in offensive yards — the team boasts not only the No. 1 passer in the league in Jared Goff, but also a Top 3 running back and three receivers that rank in the league's Top 30. While Goff undoubtedly deserves his flowers, Jahmyr is just getting his season ready by recording his Gibbths.

San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. is expected to miss "at least a couple of weeks" with the hamstring injury he suffered Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan told reporters. Samuel was ruled out with a hamstring injury in the third quarter against the Seattle Seahawks. The injury occurred when Samuel was running toward the sideline when he fell to the ground, fumbling in the process, before being seen by training staff.

See red zone opportunities inside the 20, 10 and 5-yard lines along with the percentage of time they turned the opportunity into a touchdown. How do Jaxon Smith-Njigba's 2026 advanced stats compare to other wide receivers? This section compares his advanced stats to players in the same position. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway up, then the player would fall into the 50th percentile for that metric and would be considered average.

Best big-time career throw: Jordan Love recorded six big-time throws against the Chicago Bears, setting a new single-game career high and leading all qualifying quarterbacks in Week 5. Dominant deep passing: Love completed six of his eight passes that traveled at least 20 yards downfield for 258 yards and two touchdowns, earning a 99.9 PFF passing grade on those throws.

The Buffalo Bills can help wrap up Week 5 in the NFL when they roll into SoFi Stadium for a heavyweight "Monday Night Football" matchup with the Los Angeles Rams. This could be a Super Bowl preview between two of the league's elite clubs, but Buffalo won't be firing on all cylinders offensively as top wideout DJ Moore is officially inactive for the contest as he continues to deal with a nagging shoulder injury.

The Cleveland Browns' rushing attack has struggled for most of the 2026 NFL season and saw RB Quinshon Judkins left Week 5 in a walking boot, adding to more concerns heading into Week 6 against the Baltimore Ravens. On Monday, Browns HC Todd Monken said Judkins is day-to-day, along with LB Carson Schwesingerbut he won't rule anyone out for Sunday's AFC North showdown in Cleveland.

Packers RB MarShawn Lloyd rushed just 10 times for 31 yards in Sunday's win over the Bears, but he repaid the bold fantasy manager with a pair of goal line TDs. That marked Lloyd's first two career rushing TDs. 2026 Fantasy Football Impact Green Bay's backfield underwent a shakeup against Chicago. Lloyd led the team with a 43% carry share, but Pierre Strong came out as No.

The Minnesota Vikings went up 5-0 against the New Orleans Saints, 23-13. The game was not as close as the score. The Viking defense continues to dominate teams. The offense looked as good as it has all year with Kevin O'Connell giving game balls to Kyler Murray, Justin Jefferson, and Aaron Jones. The team MVP continued his perfect season, going 3-for-3 on field goals and 2-for-2 on extra points.

While the Detroit Lions' big win over the Arizona Cardinals was cause for celebration, the team did so without one of their key pieces of the last two decades. Lions radio play-by-play announcer Dan Miller missed the game following the death of his wife, Cindy, this weekend. Miller was loved by almost everyone around him for his incredible work ethic, intense kindness, and sharp wit.

It’s maybe weird to open with a stat. Even when everyone knows it should be points off turnovers. Screw it, let’s open with two almosts — two tantalizing almosts that very nearly mooted every Seattle Seahawks misstep that preceded. Third down, final drive, you’re already at midfield, need a field goal to tie it, touchdown to win. You likely know the rest of the story — replays on Cooper Kupp’s extended arms were inconclusive, the instructions are to let it stand, the officials followed their own replay rules for once, and the San Francisco 49ers kneeled out a wacky 32-29 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

Philadelphia Eagles running back Will Shipley suffered "a partial tear of his plantar fascia" and could miss multiple games as a result, according to a report from NFL insider Adam Schefter. Shipley's injury occurred relatively early in the Eagles' Week 5 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. Although he was not listed on the injury report entering Sunday's game, he has been listed on the report in recent weeks with a foot injury.

Sometimes in the NFL it's really about surviving. There are weeks when your team desperately needs a win. It doesn't matter how you get that win. You just have to get it, somehow, somehow. The Jets faced one of those moments in Week 5 against the Cleveland Browns. A loss would send the team to a 1-4 record. The weather will be out of control.

The Chargers defense was again, for the fifth straight game this season, the better unit compared to the offense. Linebacker Del'Shawn Phillips played his best game as a pro, nearly getting a game grade in 90.0+ "elite" territory. What happened to the Chargers in the fourth quarter was pretty unbelievable, but you know what might be harder to believe? Fullback Scott Matlock, fresh off injured reserve, finished with the offense's highest individual grade.

The Cincinnati Bengals' 2020 NFL Draft class may have more notoriety since Joe Burrow and Tee Higgins were their first two picks in that class, but their haul in 2021 can't be overlooked either. Sure enough, they declared Ja'Marr Chase at No. 6 overall that year, but it was a 5th-round selection that also went on to rewrite the team's record books.

When watching games, I generally only have three or four things that I think are relevant enough to mention and I know that sometimes those overlap with what colleagues have written, or members have posted. My list is longer this week, containing at least nine bullet points that I want to bring up and discuss. So, in no particular order, here are a bunch of things that caught my attention compared to the Steelers.

The Denver Broncos inactive for the game against the Los Angeles Chargers are: QB Sam Ehlinger, DL Jordan Jackson, CB Pat Surtain II, CB Riley Moss, TE Dallen Bentley, OL Kage Casey, and DL Tyler Onyedim. With Surtain and Moss on the inactive list, we got some new actives this week - Lil'Jordan Humphrey and Sean Fresch. Player Pos The No…

The Miami Dolphins welcomed Joe Burrow, Ja'Marr Chase, Chase Brown and co to Hard Rock Stadium for a showdown in sunny South Florida on Sunday — with Jeff Hafley's squad looking for its first win of the season. Unfortunately for Miami, as the dust settled, the Dolphins fell to their opponent again - dropping their record to a disappointing 0-5 on the season.

After a week off, the Kansas City Chiefs are at the facility this week, preparing to host the Los Angeles Chargers at Arrowhead Stadium for a Week 6 divisional matchup. Two weeks after playing the Chargers, the Chiefs hit the road and play the Denver Broncos. The games will be the team's third and fourth divisional games this season. The 4-0 Chiefs are 2-0 in the division, giving them an early lead in the AFC West.

The Baltimore Ravens got the job done on Sunday even without Lamar Jackson in uniform With Jackson inactive for the game against the Atlanta Falcons at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Ga., With an ankle injury, the Ravens turned to his backup Tyler Huntleyto fill under the middle. When it was all said and done, Huntley and the Ravens came out on top with a 30-23 overtime win.

The 49ers' defensive line has strengthened despite major injuries, potentially shifting the focus at John Lynch's trade deadline to a new offensive target. The San Francisco 49ers seem to have found an unexpected solution to their defensive line woes. After losing their entire starting defensive front, the team appeared likely to pursue pass rushers before the trade deadline. However, young players have changed those roles, potentially allowing general manager John Lynch to focus on other areas of need.

When the New York Jets selected defensive end David Bailey with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft, big things are expected from the college standout. Bailey was an All-American defensive player in 2025 at Texas Tech and finished his college career with 29 sacks, including 14.5 of those as a senior. Because of those impressive numbers in college, he was selected No.

The Philadelphia Eagles picked up another unfortunate injury to their backfield after a Week 5 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars. According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, running back Will Shipley is expected to miss time moving forward after getting his official diagnosis Monday morning.

Week 5 of the 2026 NFL Season is over for the remaining unbeaten teams in the league. There are only three teams with perfect records through the first five weeks, and they all really have some notable concerns. The league truly feels wide open this year, as there are some clearly regressing squads, and others that are overachieving. In other words, it seems like you could argue that 10 different teams have what it takes to win the Super Bowl this year.

Broncos head coach Sean Payton's return to calling the team's offensive plays didn't result in a change on that side of the ball against the Chargers on Sunday. The Broncos scored a touchdown on their second offensive possession of the game, but their next eight possessions featured six first downs and three scores along with a turnover, a missed field goal and four punts.

Is there anything more indicative of NFL parity than the NFC East right now? Here's a division that many have pegged as one of the league's most competitive, with the determined Eagles, a Cowboys team ready to prove they can be elite, a revitalized Giants, and a healthy Commander. It's been five weeks of a dismal group of teams in the league.

NFL Week 6 is nearly here, and it will kick off with a Thursday tilt between the Seahawks and Broncos.  The Bengals, Lions, Dolphins and Vikings have byes. In the Week 5 edition of "Monday Night Football," the Los Angeles Rams host the Buffalo Bills. The Rams are coming off a very close win over the Philadelphia Eagles, improving to 2-2 in the process. They haven't been the super team many expected, though injuries have played their part. They have a chance to get over .500 if they can get a win against the Bills on Monday night.

The Jets made linebacker David Bailey the second overall pick in the draft because they believed he could make game-changing plays in their defense, but his first four games led to some grumbling about his lack of impact. Bailey had two sacks in those contests, but they couldn't stop the Jets from going 1-3. The grunt will be harder to find after Bailey's performance in the team's fifth game of the year.

Pitts had his breakout performance, catching five of 6 targets for 42 yards and a TD on his way to his first TE1 finish of the season. It came as the Falcons TE scored his first TD this season, a 5-yarder that ended just before the half of their overtime loss to the Ravens. Unfortunately, Pitts was unable to extend its 15.2 PPR point season-high in overtime with QB Tua Tagovailoa throwing an INT on the second play of their possession to end the game.

The Minnesota Vikings extended their winning streak to ten games, dating back to last season, with a 23-13 victory over the New Orleans Saints on the road. The Vikings overcame several fumbles on offense with elite defense and special teams and a methodical offense led by Kyler Murray. The game was more lopsided statistically for the Vikings, who held the Saints to their lowest yardage output in five years offensively and dominated time of possession and most other statistics.

The Detroit Lions had a long build-up to their Week 5 game against the Arizona Cardinals. The noise outside about poor defense is loud. This is a major talking point when discussing the Lions as a team, but the offense deserves some criticism as well. Both started sluggishly, but as the second quarter began, they came out and turned the game around, winning 45-21.

The Seattle Seahawks are 3-2 and they are in trouble for the NFC West, and perhaps the playoffs are a little less certain for the Super Bowl champions given their test of a schedule over the next three weeks. In a back-and-forth game with more defense than the final score suggested, the Seahawks fell 32-29 to the San Francisco 49ers (5-0) to fall two games back (with no tiebreaker) in the division.

After opening the 2026 season with a dominant win over the Tennessee Titans, the New York Jets lost three straight games before Sunday's tight win over the Cleveland Browns. The victory brought the Jets record to 2-3 on the season. This game was all about Garrett Wilson and Braelon Allen on offense and David Bailey and relentless passing on defense. Wilson caught 7 passes for 104 yards and a touchdown.

The Los Angeles Chargers continued to be plagued by the injury bug in Week 5 against the Denver Broncos. Second-year wide receiver Tre' Harris is questionable to return to the game after suffering a hamstring injury. Before leaving the game, Harris had two catches for 16 yards on a team-high four targets. The team is already struggling in the wide receiver room with Lad McConkey on the pitch count due to injury.

In a disasterclass morning at the London kickoff, the Jacksonville Jaguars escaped the lowly Philadelphia Eagles, 19-17, behind a Cam Little game-winner. The Jags (4-1) were competing against what was typically a practice squad and still needed to hit a 57-yarder to walk away victorious. It was the epitome of an ugly game, but the Jaguars won nonetheless. Now, there needs to be some conversation about whatever play calling is from Jacksonville or what these penalties are about.

In the end, some of it sounds like commentary. There is a family tradition where we play golf and a game of poker every year. In some instances, someone has placed a specific part of the male anatomy on the table to cover a bet. Obviously, that's hyperbole when it's done and done just for a series of laughs, but it's one of those moments when an NFL general manager puts a proverbial body part on the table to cover a bet where he's potentially light.

It was a hot day when the Cincinnati Bengals beat the Miami Dolphins in a game that started at 9o degrees, making it the hottest road game in Bengals history, according to Bengals.com's Geoff Hobson. The broadcast mentioned that it was about 10 degrees warmer on the Bengals sideline than in Miami, and they also mentioned players taking IVs to stay hydrated.

The Indianapolis Colts haven't won in Pittsburgh since 2008, and after another lackluster showing in 'The Steel City on Sunday, the franchise's surprising losing streak just continued—as the Horseshoe fell 34-22 as their last-ditch comeback attempts fell apart. Offensively, the Steelers again bottled up Colts star running back Jonathan Taylor and the Indy ground game, as Taylor was held to just 45 total rushing yards on 15 carries (3.0 ypc.

The Broncos are back to winning ugly! Ugly is the best way to describe this game. The Chargers played like an 0-4 team wracked by injuries, while the Broncos continued to struggle on offense and had lapses on defense. However, despite the ugliness, the Broncos and quarterback Bo Nix led another 4th quarter comeback and earned the win with the help of their defense.

(Photo by Carmen Mandato/Getty Images) | Getty Images The Miami Dolphins fell to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday by a score of 31-24. One of the main reasons why Miami lost the game was the poor performance of their quarterback, Malik Willis, who had three turnovers — two interceptions and a fumble lost — on the day.

Before the season, few would have anticipated the opposite directions these teams would take. The Chiefs are the AFC's only unbeaten squad at 4-0, now coming off their Week 5 bye week. The Chargers were the league's biggest surprise after falling to 0-5 following Sunday's sloppy 23-17 loss to the Denver Broncos. The Chiefs have been favored in every game this season, and they have returned to form after missing the playoffs in 2025.
