On Saturday October 3rd, we gathered alongside @refugeesinlibya.bsky.social (RiL), the Alliance with Refugees in Libya, & the @ecchr.bsky.social for an afternoon dedicated to five years of struggle against Europe’s violent mobility regime.
David Yambo speaks into a microphone as part of a panel discussion. A quote from the activist is overlaid above.

It reads: "As I speak I see faces you don't see. People who died in Libyan detention or in the depths of the Mediterranean. It is with their memory that we keep fighting. There is no way for us to give up hope."Angela Mudukuti, Allison West, David Yambio and Viola Castellano (left to right) take part in a panel discussion. A quote from David Yambio is overlaid. It reads: "It is not about my right as a black man, but the bigger fight for human dignity."Angela Mudukuti, Allison West, David Yambio and Viola Castellano (left to right) take part in a panel discussion. Text that reads "Full solidarity with RiL and my fullest respect for those fighting for justice since 5 years." is overlaid.

Yesterday evening, our space was filled with a powerful energy of radical imagination, concrete practice, and moving conversation. Together with our community and @ecchr.bsky.social, we explored prefiguration—the idea that we shape the future through the ways we act in the present.
Standing at a podium, Claire Tixeire (ECCHR) speaks to the audience at an event at Spore Initiative.A spillover audience watch a live feed of the event on a screen from the atrium of Spore Initiative.

What does it mean to collect art critically today? Catch KIN Museum director #MariaLind in conversation with #SporeInitiative director @antoniaalampi.bsky.social, discussing the concept of “digging where you stand,” inspired by Sven Lindquist’s eponymous 1978 book about citizen research.

Students from South Dakota visiting Berlin and connecting Lakota star knowledge with Max Planck researchers is the kind of encounter that can't be replicated by curriculum alone. The knowledge moved because the people did. What made that connection possible, and can it be sustained beyond the visit?

Incredible night coordinated with the @maxplanck.de discussing Lakota Star Knowledge. What made it truly special was a surprise drop-in from #FirstNations students from South Dakota visiting Berlin. A perfect example of how indigenous knowledge systems bridge the past and the present!
A group photo of about twenty students, teachers and researchers stand in front of a large screen displaying the opening title card of the documentary 'Lakota Star Knowledge'. Several members of the group are wearing matching windbreaker jackets. All of the younger individuals in the group have their eyes obscured by privacy bars.A high-angle view of the Spore auditorium. Craig Howe and Lukas Rieppel stand at the front of the room. They face a large audience of people seated in tiered chairs. A screen behind the speakers displays the credits of the documentary Lakota Star Knowledge.
