My own rendition of the Valbaran Tzcuaht'li aerospace fighter providing CAS over Kerguela. I wanted something more supersonic: The YF-23 was a major influence. The pilots are rather angry; their emotions shine through their suits and their craft's color screens, a particularly Valbaran technology.

A stealthy and sleek aerospace (capable of space and atmospheric flight) drops a glide bomb in support of Coaliation ground forces on the red and orange-tinted colony moon of Kerguela. The craft's vivid color screens shine red, reflecting the pilot's current angry emotions.

Valbaran cargo ship - a massive ground effect vehicle which connect coastal cities. A quick sketch

A Valbaran cargo ship, which flies above the ocean waves using the ground effect, a cushion of air lifting bodies produce near the ground. The larger the body, the larger the ground effect..

A Commando and her flock patrol a high-latitude forest during training on Valbara. Post-invasion, she wields a Human XMR SMG and sports a new camouflage. References and camo from @mrdeevee.bsky.social Valbarans are a part of the Pinwheel Universe by @snekguystories.bsky.social

Though mostly hot and humid, Valbara's forests at higher latitudes appear more like boreal forests, though often devoid of snow. This Commando and her flock behind her take a casual stroll though the wilderness near a settlement during training.

Since this is post-contact with humans, technology is shared. She carries a shortened, less powerful human-designed coilgun/railgun which is a perfect size for her. Use of English and Coalition-standard symbology was also adapted as Commandos are expected to speak with, and fight along side, Coalition and UNN forces.

Another Anput render! This took far longer as I built most things by hand, relying less on direct references. I spent a lot of time on small details instead of broad strokes but it came out well, I think. I shall return to Valbarans for my next post, worry not!

The Egpytian Goddess Anput, consort to Anubis and god of mummification. She is lounging and sunbathing in a private area away from prying eyes, though her big, long ears allow her listen in to what they might say.

Something not Valb themed: My own interpretation of the goddess Anput, using a screenshot as a direct reference. This started out as a paint study; I was only going to paint her face but it quickly grew in scope, however. I color-picked too much perhaps but overall, I learned a lot.

The Egyptian goddess Anput depicted as a jackal and adorned with an Ankh and an Uraeus. As the consort of Anubis, Anput is a goddess of the dead, presiding over funerals and mummification.

A somewhat quick doodle. I was going to color and render as practice but my SSD crashed. I lost all of my .CSP files, including this one. Thankfully I could edit and shade over the .png of it.

It took me some time to finish this one, a very fluffy Masi'sem'atika. I tried more painting brushes, though rendering more than anything else.

Namoli'ton'moli wishes you to know that her undergarments are very stretchy. Improper, I know. Started as a fun sketch but I wanted to practice rendering such a flat image. I think it turned out well!

Valbarans have been unleashed upon the galaxy. Something I meant to do in October; I should really practice more.

Something different today; a Valbaran Goddess of warfare and renewal/husband-taking (after conquering an enemy). Valbarans were not always so unified. Tochimatl'tin. "Blood-Flower Feather" No color with this though I experimented with hatching to mixed results, I think.

Outbound Flight. A three-ship flight of Tzcuaht'li bombers take off near dawn for a training flight. The premier Consensus air/space attack craft, the Tzcuaht'li (Obsidian Raptor) was designed for rapid, stealthy strikes.

She likes what she sees. (Her flock is on the way.) Something different today; an archetype for Valbaran physical proportions. I've incorporated a new head shape and practiced different painting and shading methods. Valbarans are a part of the Pinwheel novels by @snekguystories.bsky.social

Hiding from a Valb flock is easier said than done. Just something spontaneous and fun.

A Valbaran flock and their Cozat'li, Autumn War Campaign. A UNN Marine shares his MRE. This took quite a while but I am happy with it. Thanks to @mrdeevee.bsky.social for help and inspiration. Valbarans are a part of the Pinwheel series of novels by @snekguystories.bsky.social

A flock take a break for a quick snack with a UNN Marine. The Marine wants to share his MRE, much to the amusement of the flock (family unit.) As their suits mimic their (covered) feathers colors, some are excited (yellow), happy (green), and even somewhat infatuated (pink) with the human. Note the driver's suit is linked to the tank itself, which allows the crew to quickly communicate orders or intentions to other flocks with complex colored signals.

After Valbara join the Coalition, a military alliance of six races to combat the Betelgeusian insect threat, The Consensus (The Valbaran political/military leadership) decided to raise an army to retake their former lost colony, Kerguela. To do so, several vehicles were quickly developed, intended to wage war across a whole moon with lightning-fast strikes and deadly precision. Valbarans have always been adept at being quick on their feet and their doctrine contrasts the steadfast fist of humanity’s mechanized companies.

The Cozat'li (A type of ancient bladed weapon) is the Consensus' primary anti-armor and fire support platform. The base model pictured here, mounts a Coalition 30mm coilgun. Though normally a roof-mounted blister gun for much larger human vehicles, the weapon is quite capable against insects of all sizes, especially hulking Warriors. The gun also makes short work of normal Betelgeusian Drones, often turning them to paste with one shot, making the weapon a perfect fire support weapon for Commandos.

The front hull and turret is armored against plasma, the weapon type of choice by the insects, and can defeat plasma cannon rounds fired from Warriors. Though the Cozat'li only needs a crew of two, driver and gunner, extra flock members can ride along, providing more eyes to spy threats, or to provide infantry support during engagements. Kerguela is dominated by red, orange, and yellow foliage, hence their camo and the campaign to retake the moon: The Autumn War.

This is Kina'tah'matl; her flock crew a shuttle on supply runs. I wanted to do a background and, though rather simple, turned out okay, I think.

A seasoned Valbaran hunter rests in front of a dense forest. I wanted to explore what an ancient, tribal Valbaran would be like. Sorta like Neolithic culture to us. Body paints and dyes (chalk and red ochre) would be within the realm of reason for them.

A seasoned Valbaran hunter rests in front of a dense forest on Valbara. Already near-perfect hunters, stone age technology would give Valbaran flocks the ability to take on much bigger game or hunt from trees.
