See that innocent-looking wraparound bridge? It's being a little shit. SUPER loud buzz on 4th & 5th strings. Guess either it's made for a much sharper neck angle and I'm getting sitar buzz in the slots on the top, or it's the intonation adjustment screws. Will have to test more and fiddle with it.
Red bodied electric guitar with curly horns. The bridge is a shiny chrome wraparound deal.

Watched Possession with Mer last night and the main two lessons I took away are 1) the straights are doing FINE, and 2) Heinz Bennent was the hottest fucking man alive in 1981. Any fans out there suggest good followup views? Looking at Last Metro, Tin Drum...?
Head shot of German actor Heinz Bennent looking somehow simultaneously rugged, sophisticated, deep, and very kissable.

Hey Americans, if you need something other than fireworks to keep you up all hours this weekend, may I recommend a vividly colored tattoo in a fairly painful spot?

First M5 prototype getting built up. I don't really know why, but I dislike most standard guitar tailpieces. So I made one out of goncalo alves. The steel plate is for the string ground. It's secured from the back so there's no visible mounting hardware on the front.
A series of pics showing a novel wooden tailpiece for an electric guitar. The tailpiece is shaped from a solid block of goncalo alves. String ends will rest against a steel strip connected to a ground wire that protrudes from the bottom of the tailpiece, passing into the guitar body and the control cavity. It is secured by screws that pass through ferrules on the back of the body and go into the underside of the tailpiece so there is no visible mounting hardware on the top. The guitar body is made of a single piece of khaya wood finished in amber tinted lacquer for a golden brown color.A series of pics showing a novel wooden tailpiece for an electric guitar. A sturdy shelf I built for a windowsill herb garden. Larch with a little live edge action for the top. Cherry for the structure underneath. Water-based polyurethane and wax to protect from the inevitable watering spills. Knots filled and stabilized with malachite dust and CA glue.

Crowfoot #59, the Swamp Witch is complete! Made for my beloved Mer. 30" scale, fretless bass. Chambered African mahogany body, about the size of a 335. Maple neck with ebony board, Lace Alumitone pickup. The pickup paid off big time! Fantastic range of tones through the whole tone knob sweep.
Big bodied, short scale bass with f-holes and a big scroll on the upper horn. Seen from frontSame bass from the back, showing off the flame figuring on the maple neck.Same bass from the headstock, looking down the fretless fingerboard.Close up of the upper horn scroll, showing the little mother of pearl inlay at the center of it.

You're not crazy. And even if you're crazy... you're not crazy. (text below from Larry Mitchell's The Faggots & Their Friends Between Revolutions)
In Ramrod the only way to tell the sane from the insane is by
who has the keys. The sane have the keys, the insane do not. The
sane have the keys that lock doors to keep the insane in(sane).
Those with the keys guard their keys carefully.
The faggots, to mock and undermine normal reality, elaborate
on the wearing of keys. One day all the faggots appear with keys.
Keys on long chains and on short chains; keys on the right side and
keys on the left; keys on the cock and keys out the ass; keys on the
tits and keys under the arms; keys to proclaim sanity by those who
the men see as insane. Foreground: my forearm with a tattoo of a key
Background: big coffee mug with a grumpy frog and the text: My tummy hurts & I'm mad at the government

All together for the first time. These three guitars' bodies are all cut from the same slab of redwood. From left to right, a baritone tele, snakehead tele, and Model 2C.
Three guitars resting on a red couch. The wood of their bodies is highly figured, wavy grained redwood with clear lacquer finish. The same three guitars, but showing their backs. The M2C's back has a large area of epoxy resin inlay covering pest-eaten parts of the redwood body.
