A quick FAQ for those curious about participating! No, you don't have to be at GATEway FATE to participate, you just have to have a cool ffxiv video you've made to share! LET’S MAKE AMVS TOGETHER YAYYYYY

FAQ:
1. What kind of videos are you looking for?
Fan-made videos you've made about critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV. Some examples of types of videos you can submit might include:
- an AMV taking a bunch of clips from in-game cutscenes and trailers and syncing them to a cool song
- a fancam of your favorite character or even your own WOL
- a machinima-esque animated short, made in-game or otherwise (MMD, Blender, repurposed cutscene clips, etc) telling a story, dancing to a song, or lipsyncing to a funny piece of audio
- an illustrated animatic or drawn animation of FFXIV characters or WOLs
- a cosplay music video or nicely filmed cosplay skit
2. How long can a video be?
We have a limited amount of time for the showcase and I have no idea how many submissions we'll get, so please try to keep your videos five minutes or less. If you have questions or concerns about this please let me know. It's negotiable.
3. Can we use mods to make our videos?
Yeah, go crazy. Mods are allowed. Show me what kind of crazy camerawork, aesthetic mods, and animations you've got.
4. How explicit can we be?
Entries shouldn't be more explicit than the game itself. I don't want to have to make this an 18+ panel. If you have questions, let me know. Cursing, violence, blood, drinking, and mild sexuality are fine. You've played the game.
5. Is this a contest? Will there be prizes?
No, this is not a competition, just a showcase: a screening and celebration of our community's incredible cinematic talent!

6. How will you select which videos are shown?
I will show as many videos as time allows! If we receive more submissions than can be screened within our panel's time slot, my team and I will use our discretion to select the videos we find most impressive, highlighting a range of different styles and techniques. All videos (with creator permission) will be added to a Youtube playlist for posterity and for the enjoyment of any WOLs who can't make it to the con.
7. How do I submit a video?
There is a textbox field below in which you can provide a link to either a youtube video or a google drive file. My team and I will compile all of them into a presentation for viewing at the con. With each creator's permission, we will also add them to a Youtube playlist for future enjoyment and to share with any friends or editors who can't make it to St. Louis. Be aware that if you are submitting a video to us in the form of a google drive link and you want your video to be included in the Youtube playlist, you will need to either upload it as an unlisted Youtube video so that we can add it to the list, or give us permission to upload it as an unlisted video ourselves. Up to you!
8. Do I need to be going to the con to submit a video?
No, you do not need to attend the con to submit. We have so many incredible editors and filmmakers in this community, and not everyone can make it to the con. We would still love to showcase your video and extol its virtues to our adoring audience! Please feel free to submit your work even if you're going to be on the other side of the planet or even on another shard at the time of the con. You'll be with us in spirit!
9. What format should the video submissions be?
We would like them sent to us as either a Youtube link (it can be unlisted if that is your preference!) or a link to a Google Drive file. If you are submitting a file to us, please make sure it is an MP4 (H.624 codec) for ease of viewing and sharing.

There is a signature in Japanese in the lower right hand corner addressed to me, but it’s kanji in a fancy handwritten signature so I have no idea who signed it and simply do not recall anymore because it was signed on August 8th 2014, according to the date at the bottom. struggling to convince my deeply OCD brain that it is okay to let these go and I will not regret it for the rest of my life

A big collection of attack on titan merchandise laid out on the turquoise carpet of my childhood bedroom. It includes volumes 1 through 17 of the manga, as well as the both volumes of the Levi Ackerman prequel manga “no regrets”. There’s also a huge eruri (Erwin/levi) yaoi doujinshi compilation from 2013-2015 and the light novel “the lost girls” about Annie and mikasa”. Then there’s the Blu-ray of the first 13 episodes of the anime, which I had signed by Matt Mercer (ah yes… Matt….) who plays Levi. And there’s an attack on titan backpack that I bought at middle Tennessee anime convention 2015 cuz I bought too many evangelion figures and needed another bag to bring them on the plane home. I hiked the Inca trail to machu picchu with this backpack winter 2016.

YES the smiler is the one that severed the legs of two people and seriously injured many others in 2015 in a tragic & devastating accident. It happened on the track right here, when one train car collided with another stationary one that was stuck hidden in this dip at the bottom of the hill

You can see behind me that there’s a dip in the track where a coaster had stalled out on that fateful day in 2015, not visible to the ride operators at the station. The ride system alerted them to a ride vehicle on the track, but they couldn’t see it from where they were and thought it was a malfunction, so they overrode the emergency stop. It resulted in a horrific collision of the occupied train with the stationary empty one at 50mph, puncturing lungs, shattering bones, and severing legs. Jesus Christ.

This is maybe an inappropriate or insensitive photo to take??? Idk. It’s just hard to even picture it happening while standing there. I cannot imagine such an incredibly fucked up, life altering thing happening while just trying to have a fun day out with loved ones. Fuck, man.
