On first look, can you tell if the diced bits are real chicken or not?

Apart from broadcast crews, there’s a host of commentators, coaches, and players who I know would be thrilled with easy to use analysis tools. These are the people I will primarily reach out to for initial testing and feedback, and if anyone has ideas I welcome them. This is a community project.

Right now, stats are hand-compiled on spreadsheets. The gamers at BEEP are troopers, but they’re unable to process everything in real time. The goal with this website is to cut their time down, at least so in 3ish minutes they pull data from Inksight, upload to this site, and can have updated stats.

I know this community has a hole that needs filled — compiling match data for stats. It requires getting the match data from the servers (thank the folks at Inksight) then taking that data and formatting it, storing it, and presenting it in a usable way. I learned those latter skills so why not try?

Currently, I do not have a timeline for features, public release, or even when the bare minimum tournament-ready phase will be available. The back-end is at MVP and I’m working on front-end now. I’m an amateur developer at best, I fear. It could take until the end of the year, or longer. Idk.

This website aims to be the first match-data platform with custom analysis for Splatoon, specifically with a focus for tournaments to provide real-time stats on broadcasts. Anyone will be able to upload match data, create their own datasets, and pull a wide variety of stats. Well, that’s the idea.

Not just personal content, btw. Tournaments had more fans, people who were dedicated to just *watching*. There was the InkTV podcast, promotional trailers that were beloved, people that onlookers ENJOYED INTERACTING WITH. And yeah, I agree that the current old guard doesn’t care as much about that.

If the goal is to make Splatoon more than just hobby, there’s no way to that than through content. I was chatting with a Splat 1 vet yesterday and he was baffled by how much the scene has grown but how it had much more investment in S1. The people who played then also cared about cultivating fans.
