According to my internet sleuthing, word spread back to the U.K. that the LP track was being played in American discos, and northern soul DJs started playing it out as well, which led Capitol Records to issue 7" promos and singles as the track was popular well into 1976. #vinyl

Babe Ruth — Elusive (1975). Not the smoking and drinking Bambino but the British rock band, but you already knew that. While the group is famously known for the cover of The Mexican off their debut album, Elusive apparently was a massive underground disco hit in the U.S. #vinyl

Kinky Foxx — Lovely Night (2026). Recent arrival from @superdiscoedits, another unreleased joyful soul gem that finally saw the light of day more than four decades later and complete with new vocals added to the final mix. #vinyl

Jermaine Stewart — In Love Again (1984). Always check out album tracks other than the featured singles. Some nice synth-pop boogie cuts on the late vocalist's debut LP. #vinyl

Mike Wilson — Young Blood (1984). Canada had MJ fever in the '80s, and the country wasn't immune to copycat artists trying to carve out a sliver of success on the coattails of the King of Pop. #vinyl

Earth, Wind & Fire — Time Is On Your Side (1972). Heavy funk that wouldn't be out of place on a Blaxploitation soundtrack before the band smoothed out the rough edges by the end of the decade. #vinyl

Vaughan Mason And Crew — Roller Skate (1980). As you may already know, this album was recorded at the height of the roller-disco craze. Bounce, Rock, Skate, Roll, the single and LP title, helped keep the funk party rolling into the '80s while disco faced backlash for oversaturing the radio airwaves.

Wizzdom — Free Base (1980). It's a funky Friday, and what better way to enjoy a sunny day than with this song, and more specifically, the great bassline. The B side, W-i-z-z-d-o-m, is practically the same track with a slightly longer groove and different lyrics. #vinyl

Slim Williams — That's The One (1981). Montreal disco on the more obscure side. Co-written by the late singer Geraldine Hunt, it has that early-'80s disco synth sound the city was known for. #vinyl

Luc Cousineau — Vaya Mulata (1976). The Quebecois singer-songwriter with a breezy soft rock/AOR groove which featured Montreal session musicians Jimmy Tanaka on bass and percussion, Red Mitchell on guitar, and Richard Provencal on drums and timbales. Sadly, Cousineau passed away in 2017. #vinyl

Foxy — RRRRRRock (1979). Great late-'70s disco by the house band for Henry Stone's T.K. Records in Miami. The group managed to put out three LPs and a bunch of singles after hitting the charts with Get Off, but disbanded when RRRRRRock failed to make any inroads. #vinyl
