The minutes for 1932 are transcribed into Word format and live on the site. I have to say that some of the new manager's recording style tested the idea of "type what you see!" Go here and scroll down. Coming next: 1933! sites.google.com/view/cfchistory/minute-books

I am once again asking if anyone can point to an example of an existing stadium that accommodates 45,000 people and which is built on top of a 350m skyscrapper rather than on the ground and into which those 45,000 people can safety and rapidly enter and exit in a timely fashion.
Saudi Arabia is set to construct the world's first-ever "sky stadium," officially called NEOM Stadium. Suspended 1,150 feet above the ground, the venue is expected to open around 2032 and will host matches for the 2034 FIFA World

Cup.

The most impressive thing about Josh Koroma's finishing is the vision and timing he shows in calmly stroking the ball through a forest of legs and into the net. I bet he's a demon on the windmill at crazy golf.

Bradford (Park Avenue) looked like holding their 2-1 lead until late goals from Jimmy Cookson (83) and Jacky Fisher (85) saw Chesterfield extend their unbeaten run to eight games at Saltergate today. Jimmy Moore gave the Spireites a 10th-minute lead #CFC100

The change from one Secretary/Manager to another means a change of handwriting in the minute books. It is June 1932 and gone, now, is Teddy Davison's elegant, flowing script, replaced by Billy Harvey's "pigeon foot dunked in ink" scribble. This is going to slow things down a bit!

Speculation, I see, on compo claims for the clubs City diddled. We played their Under-21s in the Football League Trophy group stages twice (before they were found out) and only drew both times, thereby denying us a potentially easier route in the knockout stages. That's got to be worth £500, surely?

Sound the Horn of Joy! Thanks to a contact from an Australian relative of his wife, I've been given a death for Thomas "Bogey" Brown, one of only two players from the Edwardian era for which I had no death details at all. I've spent twenty-odd years looking for him from Glasgow

In the week before they took on Nottingham Forest in a January 1932 FA Cup tie, the club was invited to the first night of this. We beat Forest 5-2 and, since I worked at that theatre for forty-two years (albeit some years after 1932!) I'm claiming an assist.

A question for the legion of sports lawyers who lap up my every word. If City consistently and deliberately under-reported income, were they in effect operating an income tax evasion scheme? I wonder if we might see HMRC taking an interest?

Chesterfield’s recent good run continued with an eye-catching 4-0 win at Rotherham today that lifted the team to second place in Division Three (North.) The Millers’ forwards made no impression against The Spireites’ half-backs, and centre-half Abbott was able to get forward to score twice. #CFC100

Am I the least observant chap in English football history? I'm 67, went everywhere to watch the game in the top four divisions before the post-Hillsborough ban on drinking, and I'm struggling to remember ever having seen people stood or sat watching the game with a pint pot in their hands.

In 1920 the Chesterfield Municipal Football Club opted to discontinue its "wet canteen" at Saltergate because drunkenness contributed towards aggressive, threatening behaviour, fighting and a high level of foul-mouthed abuse, to the point where the FA became involved.

Thing is, once you allow drinking in the stands - you won't see the game for the pissheads getting in your view when they: Go for pints Come back with pints Go for a piss Come back from pissing Go for pies Come back with pies Go for a piss again. Try watching 6Nations rugby in a stadium...

Not being able to drink in the stands is a blessing. There's already a problem of blokes with thimble sized bladders from around 20 minutes needing to go for a piss and disturbing the game for nearby fans. Keep the ban.

Had Chesterfield made the most of their first-half superiority at Saltergate today they might have been well clear of visitors Stoke City by half-time. As it was, they had to wait until Jimmy Cookson found the net in the 65th minute with a low shot, after good work by Abbott and Moore. 1/4 #CFC100

The highest number of equalisers scored in a CFC game is four, twice. Yesterday's game was the 23rd CFC game in league and cup to feature three equalisers shared unevenly amongst both sides. Only six featured three by the same side, however, and yesterday was the third time we'd accomplished it. 1/2
