Figure shows 5G+ coverage. Town selected was Mansfield. Probably only one or two towers near Mansfield support 5G +.

One of the issues in Indi is telecommunications. Like most of us they’ve been screwed over by the NBN and closure of the 3G network for over-hyped and illusory 5G and 5G+ services. However they are served better than other parts of rural Australia. Figure shows 4G coverage.

Meanwhile Scotland generates 70% of its electricity from renewables and has many renewable energy projects in the pipeline. Dutton is wilfully blind to the dramatic changes occurring elsewhere and would make us pay ever increasing health, environmental and economic costs from his policy.
In Scotland some 962 renewable energy projects are in various stages of delivery and if completed would add 57.3 GW of energy production or storage.

The ABC reports that a Ningi man was arrested today by police for attempting to steal a generator powering traffic lights at Caboolture. The the report didnt say he was ‘known to police’. The map shows hotspots in Ningi for crimes of ‘other theft’ such as today’s attempt might be classified.

There was 100% of the Wivenhoe flood storage compartment available, and Somerset is using 0.1% of its flood storage compartment. The Little Nerang and Hinze dams, ungated dams on the Gold Coast, are both spilling water.

Moreton Island saved Brisbane and areas to its north. The close approach to North Stradbroke Island may have contributed to its loss of energy followed by more loss when nearing Moreton and a subsequent fall to Cat 1. Then Alfred lost more energy in crossing Moreton Island to become a tropical low.

Gold Coast City and the southern end of Redland City appeared to suffer the most damage. This is because they were to the south of the cyclone. The southern & western eyewall, with the most destructive winds, was over these areas. BOM radar on Oz Weather.

There’s a cyclone heading for major population centres and Sandy Cape weather station hasn’t been online for 408 days. The bureaucrats at the BOM seem intent on destroying organisational capacity. They’d rather spend money on name changes. Messaging is more important to them than doing meteorology.

In all likelihood this won’t be the last zoonotic outbreak. The global community ignored the first outbreak of Mpox in 1996 before it took off again in 2023 and spread globally. In a monograph I wrote 5 months ago I warned we may become trapped in an endless cycle of zoonotic infections.

Agreed nothing to do with FAA but also unlikely there was any Canadian controller error. Landing is the flight stage where most accidents occur. Pilot can go-around or divert.

Be sceptical. Request ‘the receipts’. Causality illusions & confirmation bias rampant. I’ve been countering belief that US ‘planes are suddenly dropping out of the sky’. NTSB data shows around 2-3 per day. Most crashes are stochastic events that can be clustered in time. No FAA nexus with Toronto.

The ABC’s editorial policy seems to be don’t let the facts stand in the way of a good story. Though it could be far more sinister. For example, back in October 2022 It labelled the trial of a man for rape as the ‘Higgins trial’, as if the victim were on trial.

That’s nonsense. Plane crashes happen all the time, its just that they often don’t get reported outside of local media. There’s been 2-3 plane crashes per day in the US for years. The accident had nothing to do with the FAA, it was an uncontrolled airport like the vast majority of US airports.

The media characterised her as the person on trial thereby fueling the sickos like David Wonnocott. He could be back on the streets in June 2026. I complained to Communications Minister Rowland in October 2022 about the ABC’s treatment of Ms Higgins. No response.

The FAA dragged its feet for 18 years to only address the NTSB’s concerns about controller fatigue in 2024. Also it’s moving too slow on the NTSB’s recommendation to install detection systems to avoid runway incursions and on-ground collisions. Safer skies, airports, aircraft & pilots.

It seems the FAA and NTSB failed to learn from a near miss in 2015 involving a military Orion aircraft and a helicopter at an airport in Sth Australia. The landing Orion’s crew saw the chopper and rapidly descended with the chopper passing just 50 feet directly overhead. Why didn’t the USA act?

Planes did crash & they’ll keep crashing. Did you mean there were no crashes of scheduled commercial aircraft? If Kamala had won, the DC crash may well have happened. Politicians (both sides) were the cause of the airport being pushed beyond capacity. The FAA should have stopped the helo training.

The DC crash might warrant a Congressional hearing. Today’s crash is outside the jurisdiction. All the others are not unusual. See NTSB statistics and crash reports. There’s 2-3 aircraft crashes daily (cf. Australia one per 1.65 days). Very few accidents involve scheduled passenger services.

Accidents in general & recreational aviation happen often. In Australia there were 222 aircraft accidents in 2019 with 35 fatalities in 22 accidents. No fatalities in scheduled commercial flights in past 20 years. Balloons & recreational craft had the highest accident rates per million hours flown.

The proposal to officially designate the place as the Australian Standing Stones is a little pompous but given that’s how they’ve been known, then fair enough. Celtic Standing Stones? There are Aboriginal standing stones elsewhere, and other celtic standing stones in the Glen Innes area (pictured).

Survivorship for cancers has increased significantly due to newer drugs. However early detection and treatment is still a key factor in that survival. After metastasis the prognosis is bleak. Cancers can evade treatment by a host of mechanisms so new drugs & new combination therapies are needed.

Bluff Rock viewed from the Bluff Rock rest area. I travelled on the North Mail a couple of times, alighting at Armidale en route to Point Lookout. These were memorable train journeys. I’ve walked part of the closed rail line through Bolivia Hill (south of Bluff Rock).

In Australia I’ve never had so many spiders inside my house—probably because it’s either too hot or too wet outside, or both. I collect them up and put them outside but they always seem to get back in. I’ve even had cane toads try to get inside. They wait for the front door to open.

I don’t use Google as it is an advertising platform not a scientific database. It is more likely to lead people to unverified information and rabbit holes. PubMed is my primary database, supplemented with websites of publishers, professional societies and research institutes.
