My favorite time of day to shoot birds in flight is midday. It's counterintuitive to think midday can produce the best results due to the harsh sunlight. However, BIF photography is perfect for this because it helps keep the ISO low #birds #wildlife #photography

If you live near Conowingo Dam, MD, I highly highly recommend going there either in November or April. Bald Eagles migrate through here and stop here for a short while. It's an amazing place! #birds #animals #wildlife #eagles #birdphotography #wildlifephotography

Going through the archives, I came across this image of a Common Grackle in flight I took a few years ago. When the sunlight hits these birds just right, their feathers come to life in blues, turquoises, greens, which I think is quite pleasing. #birds #wildlife #nature #photography

There is a red-tailed hawk that lives at one of the local parks in my area. Unlike most wildlife, this hawk is very used to humans, so you are able to get extremely close! I was able to get within arms reach one time, which was one of the greatest experiences of my life. #birds #wildlife #nature

I experienced a truly special moment last year at Pine Run Reservoir, Doylestown, PA. A Great Blue Heron flew straight toward me, trying to take another Herons feeding spot. My lens caught the two herons mid-flight, fierce and synchronized. One of my favorite shots ever. #birds #wildlife #nature
