Good results with textured lineart by duplicating the lineart layer, locking alpha to the lowermost copy, and filling it with white.

Not a perfect solution but I can get an approximate by creating a blank white layer under my lines, selecting the alpha of my lines, inverting it and creating a mask on my white layer from it. Will be tougher with textured lines, though. 😅

As a concept artist on these teams, I'm restricted to the early stages of preproduction, I can't carry a team very far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we will find the right people and will do my best as a manager in the time being. Cheers!

If you count the non-essential 3D assets, our "wishlist", it's around 40 total, most of which are relatively humble in scale. For a project this large, it's nothing. Roscrea is the closest to a full-province release we have thus far on Beyond Skyrim. But 40 tasks does mean manpower, still.

With this map & another misc. task done, the 2D dept is pretty much closed. There are currently five artists working on 2D tasks which represent all the concept art the team needs. After this there remains the 3D modeling - which stands a bit higher. Over a dozen essential assets are left.

Also in art only-spaces people tend to be artists themselves and as such to have high expectations of what "a great artist is" skillwise, IRL nah they just like drawings. I consider myself a mid watercolor artist but when I draw in public people think I'm the coolest they've ever seen

Online you're in the same space as utter beasts, anyone with an internet connection can browse through thousands of comics so it's naturally only a few who make it through, especially on algo-driven platforms. Way less people make the effort to show up IRL so if you haul ur ass there ur in the 10%

Really grateful for the people our there who buy and sell zines in physical stores, allowing random nobodies to cross that barrier much easier. Bunch of board game type stores around me do this and it's really sweet

Most commissions I've gotten were people wanting art of their characters, often roleplaying game player characters. Granted, I have a large following from posting fanart of RPG video games, so there is that biais in my following. Still a good vein to dig.
