Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 02/01/2025Thank god December is over, it is grind time gamers. Let's see if we can do another podcast ep. 1390
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 13/12/2024My December mental hibernation has just been playing Marvel Rivals and shitposting on Twitter lmao 1282
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 05/12/2024End of year mental hibernation. Always feels like I should be making myself do more but this time I am just going to relax through December. 3370
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 30/11/2024The interesting thing about interacting with overthinkers is learning how much thought is required to figure out how to think less. Very observant people who see a lot of variables and constants which demands a really good process for simplifying things down to usable formulas or they struggle. 4805

Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 23/11/2024Ok shooting for Monday next episode and maybe future episodes if they exist. 6662
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 21/11/2024So the ADHD things that pop into my head that I normally tweet, I've been saving as podcast topic ideas. Good news is I think it'll make for better quality conversations but the bad news is I have nothing to tweet lol 8760
Reposted by SpeedkicksTheHadou @thehadou.com · 18/11/2024Lotta success is just taking the risk and getting started. A flawed attempt is more valuable than a perfect execution never presented. 214732
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 17/11/2024Yeah, JFSR, Omen, all those can't be dashes. They're coded off the forward step "stance". 050
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 17/11/2024Yeah but we been knew that, you gotta work on why you keep forgetting. 110
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 17/11/2024You don't wanna believe in working hard and still struggling so every so often it's a "Bryan must be the issue" angle 110
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 17/11/2024You have this revelation like every two months bro 120
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Need to listen to more podcasts and see if that triggers any inspiration on improvements. Also might need to setup some way of having people suggest topics 🤔 4460

Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Can't do perfect electric from dashes on any character, has to be a real electric input. f,f,n,d,d/f+2 130
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 16/11/2024Stealing this actually, I was looking for something to match the timing of deep CD into fcdf4. 130
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 10/11/2024Loooong time ago, I internalized an idea that simplifies to "life is about making as many good experiences as you can for yourself and those around you" I love how a video game and some problem solving skills can help me spread some joy. 0350
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 10/11/2024Tagmata signed up for coaching and said "I am doing well in locals but I can't make that final push to GoD" and then 2 hours after the session sent a screenshot of him hitting GoD. 3550
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 07/11/2024Ngl it's killin me how many Tekken players just popped up on this app LMAO 151881
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 07/11/2024It really does vary from game to game and character to character. It's what high level players are always tweaking in their gameplay in daily practice, reducing the need to make those callouts as much as possible while also trying to understand what's necessary based on how they are playing. 020
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 07/11/2024Genuinely depends on the fighting game and character you're playing. Part of developing a strategy in these games is looking at the options available to you, what you can limit from the other person, the risk you can apply to their diff options, etc Potential patterns emerge there 060
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 07/11/2024FG players often think they "can't adapt fast enough in FT2" and that they need to fix their pattern recognition when the issue is that their layer 1 gameplay is just not setting them up to see any digestible or important patterns from the opponent. 71299
Reposted by SpeedkicksLandon D @landond.bsky.social · 06/11/2024No matter what Tekken game you prefer we can all agree that we want better movement 510913
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 04/11/2024I think that's almost like a way of deleting heat from the game. I think they should change heat in other ways that keeps it as part of the game but doesn't get in the way of the normal Tekken. 000
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 04/11/2024That fighting game magic...it's hard to explain to people who haven't felt it but that spark is what keeps the community going. Welcome to the club bro, it's a lifetime membership lmao 110
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 04/11/2024Haha actually I made that distinction unintentionally but the difference between "forced" and not in this instance is in the non-forced games, one type of play is favorable to the others. But like in "forced Type A", Type B doesn't really exist at any decent level and you'd get blown up for trying. 010
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 04/11/2024In Tekken we've got control characters like Law/Nina/Steve who just bully and force you to play around their attack timings and beat you for the openings you think you find... Also we've got mixup chars like Kazuya who just threaten big low/big mid/big CH all day. Diff depending on char archetype. 020
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 03/11/2024Every anime game I've ever tried is Type A. VS Games and old Tekken games and SF4, it depends on which character you pick. SF5/Tekken 7 was forced Type B. SF6/Tekken 8 s mostly forced Type A w/ exception of one or two chars. 2272
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 03/11/2024I think one of the best optimizations I've made in my fighting game learning process is determining if it's a game where I'm primarily meant to either: A) Do mean stuff and adjust it as the opponent's counters B) Keep it solid until I see the opportunities to do mean stuff 3674
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 31/10/2024My plan to play Strive is currently being foiled by inability to navigate the menus 3423
Reposted by Speedkicksnyadnar17.bsky.social @nyadnar17.bsky.social · 31/10/2024I am typically pretty cynical about this type of advice, but I keep running into people that have never experienced “the thing” just the thing about the thing. Please don’t do that to yourself. 1264

Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 29/10/2024My girl think the new Guilty Gear Strive character is cool so if you see me on that game just know god has given me one of his toughest battles. 9700
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 28/10/2024Jin Kazama is so crazy. If you try to play him like you're good at Tekken then it doesn't work out but if you just start doing the moves then magic happens. 4816
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 26/10/2024Steve Fox is a great character to teach the lesson that offense isn't all about low/mid mixups. 1331
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 26/10/2024Losing for making the wrong decision is part of the game... When you don't go in and you lose, it's the same thing it just looks prettier but it's probably actually worse. Better to lose by your own decisions than waiting to lose by your opponent's. 110
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 25/10/2024"So basically you want me to turn my brain off and go in?" "No I want you to keep your brain on and go in" This interaction summarizes all my time spent teaching Tekken 8 😂 2566
Speedkicks @speedkicks.bsky.social · 25/10/2024And if you start paying attention to the healthbars, and the timer, and the round count then it's "oh he's blocking at negative when he's losing but attacking freely otherwise". And that's something abusable. It helps to practice watching more Tekken while paying attention to more variables. 1182
