I get you but people do it at the start and then all of the work needs doing. My way of pushing through it is the year I set my stories in. I built them around the year I am publishing. My third book is set in all around the year 2028. That's quite the gun to the head. 😂

The time to come up with this deadline for a project is not at the start of the project. It's when you know the project; when you know where it will go. Then you stamp it onto your brain and use it as a Ying/Yang style clock. Treat it like the seasons. Spring is here but the harvest is coming

They had the option to do something that would make it timeless but they just couldn't let Cortana use a Halo. Imagine if she did that by the end of Halo 5, solidifying herself as the biggest threat.
