This weekend marked my 1 year anniversary of starting HRT and honestly it was a pretty shit weekend. That said, I have never been more confident in any decision Ive ever made. I will forever be thankful for those who have supported and continue to support me and everyone else taking the leap.

The older I get and more time I spend around game dev the less I am interested in game mechanics for the sake of mechanics. If a system is not supporting the fantasy of your character, the world, or the tone of the game then its not worth it no matter how well designed it is.

Having the fishing world as the low energy third place for everyone has been deeply cathartic and re-engaged me with the community. It's been great being able to jump into a lobby of 10 or 20 people and reconnect with those I dont see often
