In Ohio (and I’ll assume NY is the same) city prosecutors typically handle only minor crimes — no felonies. Rape, murder, etc., are prosecuted by the county’s legal infrastructure.

My dad’s dad was lucky. He worked for Bell, and a phone company job was as close as you could get to Depression proof. He died when my dad was 23, and it made me sad when I thought about how much closer he and I became between 23 and 43, my age when he died.

Same with Ryan. Director first day assigned a senior or junior as mentor to every single freshman, a nice way to ease in to a large high school. And his mentor, the snare line chief, even let him join his friends at restaurants after the FB games. For which they were rewarded by us with much food!
