I made this fun visual acuity game: Where's Mitch? (Credit for the original Where's Waldo/Wally "Beach" illustration goes to the legendary Martin Handford) (The ALT text not only describes the image, but gives a hint to Mitch's location)
A colorful, densely illustrated “Where’s Waldo?”-style beach scene titled “Where’s Mitch?” in large dark-red letters across the upper-right sky. Hundreds of tiny cartoon people crowd a broad sandy beach and shallow shoreline, swimming, sunbathing, walking, playing games, carrying towels and beach gear, and gathering around striped changing tents and umbrellas. The sea behind them is busy with swimmers, sailboats, small motorboats, and a large blue-and-white passenger boat at the far right. The deliberately chaotic scene is filled with overlapping figures, humorous activity, and visual distractions, creating a hidden-character search puzzle. Hidden near a group of three changing tents is a small wooden coffin.

Goddammit, Apple. The place info panel already shows "Lake America", it's only a matter of time before their vector tile server gets updated to show it as well.

Next Christmas, my second computer was under the tree. Discontinued a month later, as it turned out. They stopped buying computers for a while. But this beast actually got me into programming as a kid. And the Buck Rogers game was dope.

A side-by-by side comparison of the brand logo from the now-defunct Twitter (a stylized bird in flight with an open beak) and an unflattering photograph of Donald Trump with pursed lips (matching the bird's beak), drooping neck (aligning with the bird's curved body), and dampened swept-back hair (styled similar to the bird's wings).

Feeding is, naturally, where the Panican's unique morphology truly comes into play. The wide, shallow pan acts much like a traditional pelican's scoop, trapping unsuspecting fish. But then... a subtle difference. [SFX: sizzling sound]

The smaller area, densely packed, would include over 30,000 people (square footage divided by 2.5 for a dense crowd). The larger area could include over 75,000 people, using a more conservative measurement of 3.5 square feet per person to accommodate the unusable standing space.

It was the fashion at the time.

Indeed.
A variation on the "Drowning High Five" meme, this four-panel comic strip depicts a humorous yet dark scenario that takes place in a vast, unbroken, and lonely expanse of water.

Panel 1: The Statue of Liberty's hand, clutching her torch, is seen reaching out of the water, suggesting she is drowning and calling out for help. The hand is labeled "America"

Panel 2: A hand appears from the upper-left, as if reaching to offer aid, or to rescue the drowning Lady Liberty. The hand is labeled "Chuck Schumer"

Panel 3: The hand high-fives the hand of the Statue of Liberty, and her torch begins to tumble from her hand. The sky turns a pale red, and impact lines are drawn to accentuate the "SMACK" of the high-five.

Panel 4: Both the high-five hand and the Statue of Liberty hand are now gone, and the torch she once held has been extinguished, and is seen to be sinking as smoke rises from its top, suggesting that "Lady Liberty" did not receive the intended help and met an unfortunate fate. While morbid, the comic employs dark humor to comment on missed opportunities for aid in dire situations.

The comic is signed with "BlueSky: @spdustin.com" in the lower-right.

Reported this Apple Maps issue while getting through switchboard for my daily @5calls.org
Screenshot of a report of an Apple Maps issue.

Transcript follows, where the comment is a modified version of the 1997 "Think Different" campaign from Apple:

Question: What issue do you want to report about "Gulf of America"?

Answer: Name is wrong

Question: Name of place

Answer: Gulf of Mexico

Comments:
The name is wrong, and you know it. Stand up for your diverse, loyal, paying customers...all of us crazy ones, misfits, rebels, troublemakers, and round pegs in square holes... the ones who see things differently.

Stand up, for us, against this government. They embody the wrong kind of troublemaker. They're well beyond "not fond of rules": they simply don't care about them any longer. You actually CAN choose not to quote them. You CAN disagree with them. You can even VILIFY them. But the only thing you can't do is ignore them, because they are changing the things we hold dear... they are pushing the human race backward, and while some may see their acts as genius, we see grievance. Because the ones who believe they are powerful enough to think they can change the world by fiat, are the ones who actually do.
