this term has been exhausting but at least my double pages are cool #art #birds #book @naturalistdara.bsky.social

Diary of a young naturalist double page spread as a uni brief - with the text "I take some photos of the bracket fungus and we head off, back to the castle grounds where we play at being (knights) and (kings) and (queens), because I'm still a kid and need to battle to get my energy out. The biggest battle is loving and protecting the natural world. For now, I pour out my battle cries and mock fight with Lorcan."
Double page has a leafless tree on the left over the text box. There is a jackdaw sat on the text box. The leaves of the tree have fallen into a pile on the right and there is a sword in it - as though it was the sword in the stone. The objects are red and the background is green.

Another double page - darker red and green - with lilypads as though looking at them from underneath, or underwater. The text reads "Watching Korcan and Blathnaid in the water, I suddenly feel emboldened: I want to join in. I undress quickly and (plunge) into the depths. The cold hits me like an icy
punch, I gasp, my skin tingles. I try and (play) with Blathnaid and Lorcan but it just isn't working."
There is a gap between the words "icy" and "punch" to create a falling shock effect.

It's #ScreenshotSaturday huh? OK, here's the Gib Elemental boss fight that I'm working on right now. This guy forms from the gore laying around the arena when you enter. I'm glad I can't smell that place. Still very much a work in progress. #gamedev #indiegame #godot 🎮

A 3d model of me made in Womp - very round with a big head. 3 gappy teeth. ball hands. they are wearing no clothes but is censored with a black strike - with the words "don't read into their clothes". There is a drawing of my symmetrical arm tattoos. birdtober is over! hello November 👋 Currently playing: sims 4 (life and death!) current project: The Diary of the Young Naturalist front cover & double pages

exhibition piece - a felt quilt of yellow, light blue, dark blue, and white - with a dark blue blackbird in the centre. White embroidery shows the feathers of the bird, and there are orange stars embroidered also. Patterns on the blue squares are done in procreate afterwards - white lines.

exhibition piece - Japanese inspired bird print of a "shag" bird, with the sun being cut by its beak. the bird is standing in water with binoculars balancing on a stack of rocks facing the bird. The text at the bottom says éan, Irish for bird.

I realized i didnt have any wizard ocs and wanted to make one. I started out just making a really really stereotypical whimsical old man wizard with a big white beard and robes and all. And then i gave him a curmudgeonly son. Introducing the great wizard caraway and his son coriander

Not even trying to hide the inspiration for the checkpoints in Tichi3D. I'm curious if anyone recognises where the inspiration came from? 🧽 #indiedev #solodev #gamedev #indiegames #Tichi3D
