Went hiking on my weekend and finally saw Calochortus albus aka fairy lanterns in the wild! Not the rarest California endemic by a long shot but still uncommon. They’re locally prolific in the right spot, in this case mixed oak & bay laurel woodland on a moist northern slope with lots of ferns!
