Found an app I don’t use super frequently still had my access set as 2FA - sending an email to the email that was also my username. It had been the only option when I signed up a few years ago. This is not good enough protection for apps that hold taxpayer info. Gotta protect the PII #TaxBS

Great advice! Also be careful for emails from the “IRS” and software providers asking for info they should already have. They do not need to verify your EFIN or PTIN. Scammers are out there trying to get our client data and trying to pretend to be us to file fraudulent returns.
