Yesterday was the feast of the Decollation of Saint John the Baptizer. I find it insulting that AI slop always gives me the decoration of John the Baptist when I search for his beheading.

I did some more work on this plate, but even without printing it I'm thinking that this is the final piece. A memento mori of my husband's skull from an MRI in sepia ink on an antique cutwork and embroidered 34X34 linen tablecloth printed from an etched copper plate.

For the first time in a long time, today, I did some sketching. It was my first time using a multicoloured pencil on black paper. These architectural details are in locations that most people at church never see.

Two weeks ago I delivered my prints to the New York Public Library. It is now a part of the Prints Collection. I'm so glad that I will be able to visit it in its new home, and so can you.

Just some of what I have at the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair this weekend.

Tonight's the opening of the Brooklyn Fine Art Print Fair. As per usual I have works available in the Shoestring Press booth, including a set of 3 handkerchiefs with etching and 24K gold leaf depicting the conversion of either St Eustace or Hubert. They somehow share the same conversion story.

I didn't quite realize at the time that the rendering of Antoninus Pius made him look rather dead in this etching and sonet for my husband when we were not yet married. Now I just make etchings of his skull. Happy VD all!

I'm one of the lucky ones; getting to work with artists; helping them make prints of their work; and this is my day job! Yesterday, Gail Rothschild came in to Shoestring Press to make some corrections to a plate on which she's been working. We'll be publishing hee print this Spring.

Sunday was the first Sunday of Advent. Advent's a penitential season before Christmas. The 4 Sundays of Advent traditionally focus on death, judgement, heaven, and hell. I cut apart a TP memento mori of my husband's MRI to put in matching Victorian frames. Probably his PXmas present. Don't tell.

Advent doesn't always align with St. Andrew's Day, but this year both the sanctoral and liturgical calenders line up. This Advent holds a good advent for my family. Also, I'm just about finished printing my Advent cards this year.
