Text over a blurry background of a lighthouse at sunset reads: “Latest updates: we have our cast!! It’s too damn hot!! We love table reads! And more.” The post title says Weekly Updates 6/25/25. At the bottom is a link to the Sparkholder Media Patreon.

We have our final cast selections. Notices will be sent to the actors tomorrow/later today (it’s after 1am here). But for now- sleep, if only so we don’t send out silly mistakes. 😴

We have tentative selections for the judges. Casting is hard, y’all. Next up: reviewing the selections for Hylín and Sir Voxian, just in case they somehow magically became less awesome in the last hour.

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

Sir Voxian came down to a tie, close enough that we went back to the first audition for more material to compare… But we have our pick. 😤 Next up: selecting our Judges.

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

We’ve made our selection for Hylín. We’ll move forward and review the finalists for Sir Voxian next, then come back and listen again to be sure. But I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t crazy excited. This person nailed it. NAILED. IT. 😍

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

The auditions for the Judges have been sorted according to which one each performance is best suited for. Because even tho the 3 judges don’t have names, they do have distinct personalities. Next up: final selection for Hylín.

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

Sir Voxian is down to the final 8, with a strong favorite. All their auditions will be reviewed again before final selection is made. A quick break, and then we’re cycling back to the Judges to select the final 3. 🤩

Hylín is now down to the final 9 contenders and I have to go walk around for a minute until the adrenaline subsides. 💀 All of the performances- literally all of them- gave me the anxiety, which is EXACTLY what was supposed to happen. Narrowing these down is painful bc I wish we could cast you all.

040

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

Going through the callback auditions for Hylín and the performances are so believable that I can feel my anxiety rising. Noice.👌

Sparkholder Media - Fall of Stormcrest Now In Production @sparkholder.bsky.social · 23/06/2025

Might as well live skeet the process as it gives me an excuse to go stand next to the AC. The casting pool for the judges has been whittled down to 18 candidates/ 6 potential actors for each available role. Fun fact: one of the finalists didn’t audition for a judge, but we put them there anyway.

Audition stats: Judges Edition! 723 total auditions b/w the online form and CCC. Some were discarded due to not following directions. 😔 68 made it to the initial shortlist. There will not be any callbacks- the three judge roles will be chosen tonight, along with Hylín and Sir Voxian. 🤩

When your usual work space is over 90 with the AC running so you abandon ship and continue sifting through auditions at the local library/café combo.

Voice actors, let’s talk about accents. If you put on an accent for the first three words of an audition line… you really need to keep using it for the rest of them. That is all. 🙏

A few days late, but we have a public post on our Patreon about our casting process. As a bonus feature, you can hear my kid hollering in the background. I’m hiding from him in my hallway, hence the superior production values. 👌 www.patreon.com/posts/few-wo...

Back from vacation and back to audition reviews! Random observation that there are so many of you with absolutely BEAUTIFUL voices that we could listen to all day. 🥰 (Follow up observation that acting is still what makes or breaks an audition!)

Audition stats- Callback Edition! Between Hylín and Sir Voxian there were a total of 765 auditions submitted. 36 were invited to do a callback for Sir Voxian, and 35 were invited for Hylín. Congratulations to all who advanced! (cont. below)

Audition stats: Sir Voxian Edition! 352 total auditions b/w the online form and CCC. Some (30ish) were discarded due to not following directions. 😔 59 made it to the initial shortlist, which will be whittled down further before callbacks go out.

No Kings Day threw a wrench in the schedule, so no audition stats tonight, but we’ll definitely have some for you tomorrow. In the meantime, pro tip: if the audition tells you not to slate… …then don’t. ☺️

Final tally: 1569 auditions. 😱 Thank you to everyone who submitted to our casting call! We were NOT expecting this much attention. Thanks for believing enough in our little production to step into character and bring it to life, even for just a few minutes. 🖤🧡 And now, we review!

At least 1345 auditions will not be selected for Fall of Stormcrest. Not because they weren’t good, or because we didn’t like them, but because there’s only 5 roles and a thousand eager voice actors!! We love you all. 🖤

We're up to 1350 auditions and they don't close until tomorrow night... Get 'em in while you still can! We're not casting before the deadline, and at this point we're not casting anytime soon anyway. This is slightly more enthusiasm than we anticipated. 😅

The absolute effing worst part of holding a casting call is that you want to make everyone’s day by casting them all but there are only FIVE roles. Why can’t we be like Oprah? YOU get a role, and YOU get a role! EVERYBODY GETS A ROLE! On that note, casting is open thru June 8th. 😆 Link below.

As we cruise past 150 auditions, we’re seeing a lot of people who are brand new to voice acting putting themselves out there for the 1st time. 🥹 It makes my heart so full to see/hear people jumping into VO, and it’s a privilege for FOS to be the thing that inspired that first action.
