Yeah fans didn't know that at the time of course and I think a pretty large percentage were fine with the firing, but if they had not done it in retrospect I think they are a more stable/better team the following years with or without the Dame trade.

My opinion was always that they felt compelled to do SOMETHING after getting beat in the first round and didn't want to just run it back so they fired Bud. Had they known they were getting Dame, they wouldn't have fired Bud and perhaps he would fit in better with that stability. Hard to know.
