I do like living in a state that not only encourages people to vote but also tracks your mail-in ballot and let's you know via text when it's gotten where it needs to go. Burbank has some candidates I feel comfortable voting for, although I wish some top of the ticket democrats were... Better.

You know, I'm still amazed that Hasbro made a Firefly Yahtzee collectors edition. The Serenity is for storing the dice while the exhaust is a dice cup. It's a remarkably detailed and faithful recreation of the ship. I found it on sale at a toy store in Hartford, Connecticut about 10 years ago.

I am worried about the new merger between Cedar Fair and Six Flags. I was also disappointed to find out that a lot of their merch shirts use AI slop, and a T-shirt for Inked was pulled from the shelves because no one vetted a racist character who appears on the design.

Inked was probably my favorite maze in recent years at Knotts Scary Farm. Lines were short, the cast was awesome, the fog was thick. It was a lot of fun.

One of the greatest things about having a partner from another part of the world is getting exposed to different food. Teresa makes the best fish-maw soup ever, and it's one of my faves. (With a bit of vinegar and a dash of white pepper!)

The Blob. Back in '75 my Dad was watching it in the afternoon for some reason. 4 year old me happened to walk in right as the blob lept up the stick and attached itself to the old man. For the next three months, I knew the blob was gonna get me at night if it weren't for my blob-proof sheets.

Hahaha I do the bare minimum. I worked for a haunted house attraction in the 90s and my house back then was transformed. Now it's just tombstones and lights.

This is such a weird illusion. I painted it and it fooled me. Today I put up all the tombstones in the front yard for Halloween and as I was setting this one up I thought. "I don't remember carving that epitaph..." It really looks like a meatspace bump map. I still have three more to do.

I have a friend who uses the LA Metro all the time, and he's been wanting me to use it too. When he said he wanted to check out the TMNT Pizzeria down in Santa Monica, I wondered aloud if we could subway down there. Turns out you can, and we did! The pizza place was tasty, although expensive.

That Star Trek Bird of Prey photo was pretty popular so I thought I'd share this one too. Nancy, Keith and Kristina were over at the Paramount lot. This was '98, it could be the Excelsior or the Enterprise B? Anyway, lots of history here.

A day or two before we went to Epic Universe, we started talking to this guy in line about coasters and he went all in about how scary Stardust Racers was, and if we were easily frightened, the yellow line was less intense. When we rode it (green line!) my expectations for terror were high.

I'd forgotten about this R&H photo! Keith Hunter was one of the best men I've ever known. He managed the modeling department (and built the CG Enterpise) Nancy (left) was a talented modeler and Kristina was one of the coolest producers I've worked with. That Bird of Prey was on loan from ILM.
