Just joined from the Verge article. Pretty nice so far. Had used Tapestry, but that was just too many options. Feel like Surf is the right level of complexity.

It's out! The Garmin Fenix 8 Pro series, which (finally) brings LTE connectivity, but also two-way satellite messaging, and even MicroLED displays. I dig into how all the features work, from the cellular bits to the satellite bits, and plenty more: www.dcrainmaker.com/2025/09/garm...

Ah, I get the "flesh-toned" issue for your work! Personally, I've been wanting go find an easy way to bulk tag photos I take for running races www.flickr.com/search/?user... For these, I could use something to read the bib number instead of relying on face detection

Do you think your script any better than the built-in Lightroom detection? Or do you just prefer to have the detection done outside of LR?

Easy way to end a sentence? It doesn't insert two spaces, just a period and a space. Never turned it off

Alright, giving this a try. Been a fairly active lurker on Threads and Mastodon, but hearing Bsky might be more like old Twitter, which I'm definitely down for
