If we saw Vash holding baby Knives at any point, the fans would assume that Vash gave birth to him, and clearly Orange was afraid of that!!

There's probably more evidence of Nai's obsession with his and Vash's childhood that I can't think of right now, esp in Stargaze. He should have had the opportunity to be reborn and experience a safe childhood with Vash so he can move past his childhood trauma.

Conrad is called a Father in the religious sense, but he's also Nai's figurative father. Meeting Nai at some point before the crash when he was a child and getting the privilege of more or less "raising" him post crash.

Most of the GHG joined as children, as if Nai's more receptive to human children than adult children. Even Midvalley, who was an adult, is very soft and kinda towards kids, which is quite alarming for an assassin.

170

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

In Stargaze, child Nai promises Tesla that she won't cry again and that he'll make sure no (plant) does. This is a large promise that most adults who grow up to understand is naive. Nai doesn't let go of it, to Tesla's detriment.

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

He's obsessed with the idea of not letting Vash get hurt, to both of their detriments. He keeps Rem's truth buried away and never actually talks to Vash about it. It's a sign of an emotionally immature person.

170

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Nai exclaims that he wants to "go back" and demands Vash to "take him back there" at the end of Stamp. Of course this refers to the higher dimension, but given the context of where he and Vash were moments before in that gate, it could refer to childhood as well.

180

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

At the end of Stamp, when Nai takes on his child form inside the gate to manipulate Vash, perhaps hoping that Vash also wants to go back to the safety of childhood. When Nai briefly wins, the world he creates for them is again when they were kids.

170

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

In his first confrontation with Vash, he uses his powers to disable Vash by resonating with him, and Vash's consciousness is forced by to childhood. Nai puts Vash in this space in Stampede and Stargaze, but as an adult, so we know Nai deliberately chose Vash to be a child here.

180

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

His appearance, he either hides his adult body with his cloak or he discards it in favor of just wearing his plant suit. While it's officially a suit, it gives the appearance that he's nude. It's not uncommon for children to go through a stage where they refuse to wear clothes.

170

🌌🐑 @spaceysheeps.bsky.social · 14/09/2026

Nai being reborn would have been the perfect way to cap off his character arc, considering how he's mentally and emotionally immature due to his trauma. He hasn't been able to move past his childhood and everything about him revolves around it.
