Another trope is “delevelling” -the LVL 1 slime trope. A main character is stripped of everything that makes them special and demoted to faceless fodder. They aren’t hiding their power; they don’t have it anymore. Cast demotion is HOT!🔥🔥

A hero can become evil, but I’m drawn to the idea of them becoming an identical, interchangeable henchman. They’re often given unique evil character designs (Trope name?), which actually works against the henchman kink. They’re too distinctive. A henchman should be indistinguishable from the others.

So a couple of tropes to discuss. These aren’t “henchmen,” at least not as I mean it. A henchman needs autonomy, there had to be free will to lose. These are faceless fodder: interchangeable bodies with no identity or agency. 3d printed villains. You feel nothing when they’re killed.

Like himbos, there’s an appeal in being “dumb muscle.” It’s not a big-brain job. If you had the big brain, you’d have henchmen yourself. You’re content being a dumb piece of beef, ordered around. And that’s okay. You exist to obey.

There’s an element of being property: an identical goon, used to project the strength of someone far more powerful. Your actual strength barely matters. Being reduced to a “trophy” is key, you give off an aura of strength, and that image alone makes you feared.

The matching uniforms are a huge part of the kink: look alike, think alike. Your identity is irrelevant. You’re a grunt, completely replaceable, nothing unique about you. It edges into drone territory, but a drone is a creature of sex; a henchman is simply a slave.

The original GOON! For me I like henchman because its thematic servitude. With or without hypnosis, being a henchmen is about obeying the boss irrelevent of your own thoughts. It's certainly hot to have your ethics hijacked in service of someone else though. A mindless mook doing what you're told.
